Evo Turbo on Lancer

Can the stock turbo from an evo work on a lancer oz. I have an evo and thinking of upgrading my turbo and selling my turbo to a buddy who has a lancer oz. Will it work and has anyone done it yet? Thanks for you input.

I believe there is someone on here doing a current project with the evo turbo. I'll have to look for it.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to get a turbo kit that is made for the lancer?

it could be, but if you knew someone who had a shop and would work for cheap or free, and you could pick up the turbo and manifold for cheap, it might be a little bit cheaper to DIY, but I would still rather go with a proven kit

alot more involved than turbo and manifold, maybe not cheaper( might be), but easier and more reliable to purchase the kit made for the lancer.

aware of this, but those are going to be the most costly items of the whole deal (except labor)

i have to agree with the cheaper option on that, heres why:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=134107
its my custom turbo thread, i will spend about $1,350 on this kit basically for the equivalant of a stage 1 ic'ed kit, the only thing im missing is a piggyback, which i can pick up an e-manage for what 250? and its fully adjustable and upgradable, not like other piggy's. so, 4500 shipped, or mine for 1400 shipped+250 for piggy= 1650 for the equivalant of a stage 1 ic'ed kit. and if i do so, ill upgrade to stg 2 for about another 600, injectors, and other misc. parts. so i'll spend about 2250 for a complete stage 2 ic'ed turbo kit, compared to other ones that are close to 6600 for a stg 2. KEEP IN MIND THOUGH THAT MOST OF MY PARTS ARE USED, but all are like new, and some are new. also, i have done A LOT of research on this topic and am getting it tuned for free by my bro, and installing myself. i also got like the best deals on the planet on this stuff, so most likely it would cost anyone else more. i agree it would be A TON easier to buy a premade kit, but tuneability isnt there as much, nore is choice of parts. i dont agree however with reliability, yes RRM's turbo kits are excelent kits and have reliability out the @**, but if your a VERY good tuner and know ur ****, u can be running w/ more power just as safely depending on your mods. also, i jus wanna say, if i had the money, i woulda just got rrm's kit, but im 18, and want to have a cushion, if i wreck it or something happens to it, i'll be not as pi**ed. their kits are worth every penny imho, but i'd just rather save about 2 grand off the stg 1 ic'ed kit and learn how to do it on my own.

phewww, dam, i think i wrote a book, tooo many numbers for me, lol. ::goes for a drink::

hope this helps, a little OT but gives u an estimate on what everything else costs

oh, and, rrm's up/dn pipe set is about 500 est.
tsi's manifold is 550
a turbo is anywhere from 80-1500 depending on which one u want and if its used
for everything else look for megadeath2018's thread when he built his kit or look at mine, but keep in mind my costs are lower cause the key parts i got awesome deals on.

prolly, but a stock evo turbo wont work too well on a reg. lancer unless u have upraded internals and are pushing 14 or so psi, correct if im wrong please, if i were u, i would buy a used(almost new), or freshly rebuilt t-25 or t-28 or the other 5 or so similar turbos, it would save u a TON of money over a new one. a new t-25 goes for about 700-900, a used or rebuilt goes for 100-250 for something just as good

stock evo turbo will work fine. As long you change the stock actuator into adjustable ones from Forge and change the spring and set up at 5 psi. For now on my project, I am still waiting for my other stuff to come and then I'll continue it again.

thats good that your saving a lot of money, but 1 thing is missing that is worth to alot of people and that wouls be security, how many people do you know of that has the same exact turbo set up as you do?...with a tried and tested kit, that can be answered over and over again

no one, thats the greatness of it, also, if ur a good tuner or know good tuners as in my case, then as long as you set the car up correctly there IS nothing to worry about, except general stuff tat u gotta watch out for such as your oil level, egt's, coolant level, etc. but these should be monitored on EVERY turbo kit. You do definalty have a point though, and a good one, rrm's kit is safe, and its been heavily proven many many times over that it is safe. also i meant that the stock evo turbo wouldnt work meaning STOCK, not aftermarket actuator for wg that costs god knows how much, imho, a t-28, t-25, or even if ur going big power 20g would be plenty. just remember bigger the turbo doesnt neccesarilly mean better, slower spool time, y do u guys think rrm uses t-25, and t-28's? and now that they have a very aggresivly built up car they opted for the bigger 20g turbo.

i just reread the beggining of this post and if ur going to get this turbo for free or almost free then go for it, buy the new wg actuator and start piecing a kit together, and the most impportant part of all, HAVE FUN!!!
