Ok, so if I am getting that code, and I put an O2 simulator on bank 2, what would be the result (besides not having a CEL anymore)?

PS: I have an O2 simulator wired up and ready to go on bank 2, I was using it before. It's not connected right now.

but that CEL from the #2 O2 sensor doesn't cause you to run rich. I know what I've said in the past, but experimentation by myself, rhyzin and a couple others has shown that all that light does is, well, illuminate your dash. It doesn't prevent tuning from happening, and it doesn't make your ECU go into limp mode and it may prevent you from seeing other issues because it's already on for the O2 sensor issue. I'd reinstall the CEL eliminator, just to get rid of the light.

Goodness knows what my SES light is for....... like you said, just another light to help me read my speedo correctly. I have had codes for bad MAS, misfire, blah blah blah but they wernt away after a while. I think this one has to do with me having no cat (stupid muffler shop took it out).

EGT probe is on the drivers side exhaust runner, right on the curve where the header pipe curves down. Does it make a difference?

Should have put it on the #4 runner. Tends to run the leanest because it's at the end of the fuel rail.

Well, I would have asked around had I done it myself, but Guru_Del had it done, so I would guess RRM welded the bung on for him.

It isn't that big of a deal. You're just going to get a reading from the richest cylinder instead of the leanest. Chances are #4 won't be dead lean if #1 is rich, but if you're on the threshhold then I'd always play it safe and assume that #4 is leaner than #1. We have a knock sensor you know. I'm not certain how good it is (whether it's like the 1g DSM, 2g DSM or something different), but if you could monitor that you'd have another benefit going for you too. I don't know if that's reasonably possible or worth your time though, especially since you haven't resolved whether it was a **** up at the dyno place or whether you're really running lean.

And it really doesn't matter anymore know because the turbo kit is off of the car. I spent the whole weekend pulling it off. Time to get my Mazdaspeed Protege.

That sucks dude! What's the story (aside from some fuel management issues)? Or did you just get tired of the Lancer in general and decide to trade up to the MSP?

I've loved the MSP every since they came out and my roommate and I test drove one and he bought one. It would take me at least $2500 and A LOT of work to get my Lancer to the level of the stock MSP. I love the car, there is more of an aftermarket for it, this car has an extended warranty and bumper to bumper up to 50000 miles, I grow out of cars rather quickly, and I hate Mitsu. That about sums things up.

I love my Lancer, it was my first brand new car, and i'll never forget it nor this forum. I'll be sticking around, don't worry.
