Top speed? Where ya going to do more than 120 mph??? Or even 120 mph for that matter. RPW and RRM make good turbo kits, but remember your Lancer will not suddenly be an Evo. The way I like to look at it is with a turbo and some suspension work, youd have a nice car that could give a Mazdaspeed Protege a run for its money.

By the way, run a search on turbos, there are countless threads on the subject.

I think a Turbo Lancer set between 5-8 psi will smoke a Mazdaspeed Protege. More like it will give WRX a run for its money.

If you're just talking the turbo itself: a ball bearing big T-28 is probably your best bet without going through a lot of headaches.

If you're talking the whole setup...I'd say custom. It's difficult for any kit, not matter how good, to fit everyone's specific wants and needs. Flexibility is key imo.

My advise to you: Learn to read compressor maps. Fun stuff. Pick the turbo best suited for your wants/needs and work from there to piping, fuel, management etc.

turbo lancer at 8psi can beat WRX's...like my lancer ..but the biggest turbo for this car would be the T-28....sure you CAN cram a T3/4 hybrid in but its too close to the radiator and would cause problems.

Its not really the size of the turbo tho if your looking for max HP. the T-28 will be perfect for semi high boost but your gunna have to get internal engine componets if you want to run over 8 psi safely and have a long engine lifespan.

umm...top speed for this car is about...130 mph...your not really gunna be able to break that unless you get some head work like new cams, valves, lifters blah blah if u want to increase your engines MAX rpm and remove the rev limiter to go higher speed...again major work. or you can regear your tranny....but that would be extreamly expensive.

Talking FASTEST TURBO

What would be the best way to upgrade my stock ES right now to get it to have like 220 HP? or more?
It was sad, last weekend i got beat by a girl in a Carolla.. although i do have subs in the back maybe that was adding to much weight?

But just wondering what turbo or anything could get my car up in the 200's in HP

thanks

Best advice you can get for both of you is learn before you buy. Know what you're getting yourself into and why you wanna choose whatever parts you choose. Read, read, read. There's tons of into out there. This is a MAJOR upgrade and you'll quickly find yourselves in over your heads if you don't know what you're doing, especially on the maintenance and limitations ends.

Like some other people here, I dont just drive straight, and with the suspension as is stock, I dont care if your pumping 9 psi, the Protege will smoke a Lancer through the turns. Hence why I said a Lancer with suspension and turbo work you could keep up......

Abig t28 has a max hp rating of no ore than 350hp.....I mean hell the little ol' t25 max's out at 250. Its gonna take a lot more than just a turbo to get 220 hp, theres alot of other stuff that needs to be done. I have the big t28 and I am no where near making 350hp more like mid 200's.
