would not recommend it for the fact that u dont have an intercooler. and from what i gather anything over 7psi ur maxing out the injectors...so bigger injectors and some form of fuel control will be needed...
so to answer ur qestion...DO NOT RASIE THE BOOST.

get an intercooler, then we'll tell you. Or you could do a search. Or you could go into the forced induction forum and look around for 5 minutes and find it.

If your going to do full internals, you might as well spend the money and get a standalone. I consider the fmu a liability when planning on spending that much money and raising the boost any higher than 9 psi.

Without an intercooler 7psi is your max, and not all the time. After getting the intercooler you can go up to 13psi on stock engine with decompression gasket + fuel managment.
So how about instead of spending all the money on the engine work, get some serious fuel managment unit + intercooler and then injectors and try maxing out whatever you have. If you will make a mistake then you can play with the engine.

stock internals on Lancer 2.0L have been pushed to about 12-13psi with no issues... at 14+ things break.

Thus you should just hold off on the internal mods and get an intercooler. More power... then stage 2... more power... then upgrade the motor and get standalone if your gonna go further.

Or some have upgraded the motor and switched to emanage with bigger injectors and pulling timing.

We have the IC upgrade kit for the Non IC guys. Go ahead and give a call. Lot cheaper and alot easier than changing internals.

We boosted 13 psi with FMU and Stage2 (basically) stuff on our drag car. FMU still serves a purpose. Decompression gasket works for certain applications. Like we will try one on our drag car but only because it is a drag car and we went for bigger turbo. For drivability, like WRC cars, they run small turbo and high compression pistons. That is what gives them responsiveness and ability to steer with their throttle more. My GSX Rally Car has 9:0 to 1 compression pistons. That is more than stock along with BIG 16G turbo! Sweet!

good luck on raising your boost you must be hungry for power
im pushing 19 psi on FMIC, RPW head, rods pistons, decompression
head gasket...RRM parts and other goodies you can do it
upgrade to that RRM IC kit and you will be at another level
