Car is Bucking HARD

So, i got the turbo installed and everything was fine and dandy. In fact, i beat an RX-8 on the highway(on ramp, he tried to cut me off, good bye mazda!). But the problem is, the last day or two its been doing some weird crap. Today around noon, it was fine. Then i got off work, and when the boost came on(about half throttle) the car started buckin like it was going from 170 to 90hp in a split second. I think i heard the bypass valve when this was happening. I checked all the hoses and everything is tight. Is the wastegate opening randomly? has this happened to anyone before?
Thank in advance for the help.

I dont know if this matters, but its about 15-30 degrees(Utah) outside.

check your plugs sounds like your misfiring maybe.

Are you smoking at all? How long have you been turbo'd? It could be a coilpack or an injector failing. It sounds like the engine is essentially stopping combustion in 1+ of the cylinders

Had same problem on my EVO after I installed an electronic boost controller. I had the settings off. I'd go to accelerate and wham! I'd loose 10 psi, and the car lost power. I kept forcing the car to do it so I could see if anything was out, but it was the boost controller. If you have an electronic one, turn it down.....then start over. Worked for me.

Hey sponge, could it be that you're losing boost due to exhaust leak? I know you had it installed by a professional. What do you mean by bucking? Does it jerk and stuff when it looses boost? You also mentioned it having a valve sound. What does it sound like?

OH yah, do you have a boost gauge and egt? These are required monitoring tools so I suggest you get them asap. Unless of course you have em already.

Wink

boost and egt is goin in tommarow at lunch time. The valve sound i was refering to was the blow off valve. I couldnt hear it when i first got the kit, now i hear it almost all the time. its recir, since vta has nothing but problems associated with it. No electronic boost controller either. Think there might be something faulty with the wastegate >? Not smoking, but the car stinks like ****(no muffler or cat). Bucking = think letting out a ACT clutch, then pushing it back in, then letting it out again. I'll keep it under boost until i can figure it out. Thanks for the great responses guys, my buddy was amazed at how fast they came.

Also, don't the 2g eclipse injectors work out pretty good for our motors? If so, i might as well upgrade them while i have the money

im replacing the 1st one, since that is the one that popped the code. To clraify, thats the one in the headers. I have the rrm headers, and i know that it pops a code, but i wouldnt think it would make the car hiccup this bad. what do you guys think?

No, the turbo DSM's use low impedence injectors (peak and hold), and you need high-impedence (saturated). You're probably misfiring or your fuel delivery is off for whatever reason.

all you have to do is wire inline resistors, honda guys have been using them for a while, they are a pretty decent alternative price-wise to an aftermarket injector

What's even easier is using Rx-7 high impediance injectors and just using longer bolts to hold them in

So far, it was the 02 sensor, the car seems to be doing fine now
