Automatic Turbo

Hey Im new here and Ive posted once asking for help with n/a mods and in that topic everyone was suggesting turbo. So tonight I have been searching for a while learning as I go along and Ive come here to ask some questions. Thansk

1] What mods do I need to start off with before I go with turbo? In otehr words do I need any supporting mods?

2] Is it a good idea to go turbo on an automatic or should I stick with n/a mods?

3] Whats the best psi I could run?

4] What all do I need in the interior for the turbo?

Thanks

1) not if you buy RRM's kit - comes with every thing - you might want the magnaflow exhaust tho
2) why not, if and when i get the money i plan to turbo my auto.
3) i think around 10 on our engine - not sure, if i'm wrong someone will correct me
4) nothing really - people like to have a boost guage, A/F guage, that kinda of stuff

well there you go, i thing that the turbo kit is one of the best things powerwise for the auto...I would get a turbo back exhaust(custom) if I had the turbo kit but besides that, rrm has you covered...and I believe that the 10-11psi is the max on stock internals and thats pushing it...

Boost, Air /FUel and EGT are the main ones you should have. a 4th gauge would be oil temp. i just rode in my friends auto turbo @ 5psi... mannn it moves!.. totally different car.. definitely worth it! oh btw his name is "LOTL" on these boards if u need to know

Thanks all. You did answer all the questions I just like to hear everyones opinons. I was talking to some friends at school and some how we started talking about turboing cars.. Anyways (none of them have turbo) they said that you dont flip a switch or anything that when you push the gas the trubo automatically starts is this true? Can someone xplain that? Thanks

Yes, turbo is not started by a press of a button like how it is commonly used in old arcade racing games.. The exhaust gases spin the turbine wheel which compresses the air flow that goes into your engine.

basically turbo's are powered by how much you push down on the throttle. So if you push down hard from a slight roll your going to get straight into boost, but if you drive the car normally, you may never hit boost.

Point is... once your car is turbo'ed the turbo is basically controlled by how hard you step on the gas and at what speeds.

I have a heavy foot at anything below 80... Any ideas on where I can pick up the Boost, Air /FUel and EGT online? Also anyone know where I can get a pilliar that matchs the stock one?

For the gauges look on Ebay, summit, FS section here, ect. The a pillar will not match the stock (at least mine doesn't) it is usually black.
