The most obvious is a boost pressure gauge, probably anywhere from $30-$100. EGT gauge is helpful, others could be oil pressure, oil temp, etc. Most gauges are in the same price ballpark (uninstalled).
Ok, first 12 minutes != enough time to be whinin' for help again.
Second, you post US Lancer questions in the Evo forum and most people you're looking to get an answer from are going to miss it. Stock turbocharged cars do not require gauges because the ECU is PROGRAMMED to watch all the variables. Anyway...moving.
On top of boost, oil pressure would be good, EGT is damn near essential, and that should be more than plenty.

Then again I am thinking of adding an EGT.
AFR's tend to take time to warm up, no? (besides, the good ones that run their own O2 sensors are very expensive GReddy something like $325 and Tomei something like $425) Besides, chances are he'll be running something like an AFC or E-manage to tune fuel...both of which will give him AFR readings.

I don't mean to overstep my bounds, Hobie, but even though the thread originating question was pertaining to a turbo setup on a regular lancer, this is clearly a point of interest to Evo owners as well and quite more so I would think seeing as only a very small percentage of lancer owners are going to turbocharge theirs, whereas 100% of Evo's will be turbocharged, 90% of which will be modded to which these gauges will be very important to keep things in check. Just feeling the move didn't seem necessary, but who am I, I suppose

Yeah...see my first post. No need for any non-stock gauges in a stock turbocharged car. Hence the move. It's not that I don't want Evo people answering, it's that here he'll get responses from people who've added gauges to the NA Lancer gone boosted out of necessity.
And I don't mind criticism so long as it's constructive.

I agree with Andrew. Go with boost and EGT. Go with a GReddy EGT, they have been proven the most accurate EGT gauge on the market. If you have any other questions, just send me a PM, I'll be glad to help.
BTW, if cost is an issue, VDO makes very decent gauges at very decent prices. Not the hottest looking, but they do come in white or black face and they're a far cry from ugly...if anything a bit plain.
I have a VDO Vision series white face boost gauge. For 50 bucks or so, it works great. It may not be the best looking, but it is accurate.
Plus you don't honestly need 60mm gauges, or the more expensive warning style gauges (unless you plan on just ignoring your gauges until you go over the preset boost and/or EGT temp). Just go with GReddy 52mm Electronic gauges. EGT would be 130-150, and a boost would run you 120-140 give or take. Just search around the net for the best prices. Just something to think about.
