Anyone know if an '03 RRM turbo kit...

hey,

looking at buying a used RRM turbo kit for an '03, and im wondering if it will fit on an '06 OZ?

I contacted RRM, they sent me an email saying it will need some serious mods to fit, because it "does not fit well".

I thought all the manifolds were the same from '03-06 lancers? Thats about the only thing i can think of that would be different? Unless the piggy back is different? or someting related to fueling? What else is different on that kit vs. a kit for an '06 oz?

Anyone know exactly what they mean by it will need mods?

p.s.
the kit im looking at is for a manual and my OZ is 5spd.

thanks

The engine bay is a bit different from my experience. And you have a different fuel system than the 02-03 cars did.

I'd say it might be worth just moving on and keep looking for something that will fit your car directly. Or maybe call RRM on the phone (yes, on the phone. It works better than email.) and find out exactly what you'd need to change/buy and see if it's worth it.

I know the 5th injector thing that RRM has for the '04+ is probably the best way to do it, but could i not use the older version kit and use a FMU or buy a new fuel rail with a FPR on it? And also not run the RRM piggy back ecu for this older kit to work?

No, the 04+ lancers use a returnless fuel system thus the old fuel system (rail, FPR and/or FMU) doesn't work.
