VTA BOV on Lancer
VTA BOV on Lancer
Hey peoples, quick question. i have a non-ic turbo from RRM installed in my car and i want to run a BOV that VTA, i know i can't because the MAS would not allow it. Could i use this and then get a VTA BOV. Here is the link to the HKS Electronic Idle Stabilizer:

i would say probably yes, because the evos have the same design & issue when running VTA, but i would find someone running it and find out if it does work

some people run VTA for the sound, it hasnt been proven to have any performance gains, if that is what he wants, why not?

^Ah hells yeah! I heard a HKS Hyper BOV on my friend's brother's turbo Civic (5 psi) and it was it NICZE! It brought out the ricer in me and I told myself I was so going to get one! LOL
I don't think that'll work, the problem isn't an erratic signal (ie. an electrical problem) it's simply that you have less air that is being registered by the MAS. The sensor could work perfectly fine but if it registers 4 units of air and you release 3 units, it'll dump 4 units of fuel to 1 unit of air resulting in a massively rich mixture. If you want the sound, go nuts but be prepared for a slower car and poorly running car. Alternatively you could just download a track of BOV sounds and play it on your iPod while you drive.

it seems like a load of hassle for no real benefit.
just a whole lot of...

you might as well if the only reason you're doing this is for the sound
Agreed. The sound is great the first ten times you hear it but when you're taking a girl out for a date and at every shift all you hear is "pppsssshhhh" it'll get annoying.
