??? about auto turbos

i have 2 friends with gsts. their both running on t28 turbos. 1 is auto and the other is manual. they both run at 14 psi. well my friend with a manual his full boost kicks in around 3500-4000k rpm at 14psi. my other friend with an auto turbo kicks in around 4500-5000k for full boost at 14psi. is this normal? i was thinking cause of the longer gear ratios in autos. these are both in 1st gear.

Well the manual has 5 gears and autos have 4. Not sure what kind of difference that makes.

Something else is going on, if they were exactly the same they'd build boost at exactly the same time.

their pretty much the same..the only difference is the manual has no cat. i doubt that makes a difference in spool.

Yeah a free flowing exhaust is definately gonna help build boost earlier. thats gonna be your cause right there.
