In the end, it's just about opinion. I understand your points, but I just don't see doing any of that. They do what they do and they probably won't change. Because in the end, it's all a bunch of 50-year-old Japanese guys making safe decisions so they can collect their pension in a few years...

yeah that's why mitsu is in the gutter

someone seriously needs to inject some life into the whole company. either make the cars better quality or make them hella fast. either way will net more sales. i vote hella fast

on a serious note if we don't see S-AWC (some version of it at least), SST and the 4B11T on a lot more cars, the company will fold. why, oh WHY, wouldn't you use the technology you have available? so the evo can have exclusive stuff? whoop de friggin do!!!!

i wanna see a galant VR-4 with AWD, SST, S-AWC, 4B11T, the WHOLE shebang. everything on the evo but in a bigger more luxurious package. i think people WILL buy such a car if you make it!!!

the eclipse? i wanna see a small 2 seat coupe with AWD, S-AWC, SST, 4B11T, the WHOLE shebang. make this thing a mini GT-R!!! the technology is there! IMO the demand is there! why not? what are they afraid of?

well at least some of these things are coming true. SST seems to replace all their autos. the RA shares the 4B11T. the concept RA looks promising minus the stupid diesel idea. put an evo drivetrain on that thing and you WOULD have a mini GT-R. such a car would be legendary

3 more weeks!!! i cant wait for RRM's kit for the 4b11 5 speed. cvt will be coming out later after he said when i was talking to him. sounds like their prototype is holding up great. all the lil things, idling and such. they even had coorporate from mitsu test out the car and they seemed very pleased. ill be ordering mine soon and being a ginny pig i guess :s hope everything turns out alright.

i really dont think would do that if the turboed R/A is gona be 230 hp and that has a detuned Evo engine. well be happy to see 8psi of boost, but right now im happy with anything because im sick of the GTI drivers talking about their 200hp. i want to top that

ok so ive been skimming through most of these posts and am somewhat confused. I want a straight forward answer Yes for Turbo or No for Turbo. people are saying yes and people are saying no. In my opinion, if would give a GTS turbo and put it on warranty, business would be booming. On the other hand, this "turbo kit" will probably be expensive and that would suck. If they make an affordable turbo like 2k alot of ppl would buy and they would run out quick. Im just gunna keep checking on this post to see wut happens. Then i could wish n hope for this. phewww...lol

you are nuts... first off its not realistic for mitsu to put out aftermarket parts like scion b/c mitsu hasn't sold ralliart parts since forever that they warrantied. also asking 2k for a turbo kit you must be smoking some good stuff... good luck on u wishing to find a mistu dealer who will sell the turbo if they even come out with it who will warrante it.

I don't see why mitsu would sell the turbo kit for the lancer. It has not happened before and it's not going to happen. Lancer has the status of an economy sedan in the current vehicle lineup that mitsu is selling. And mitsu is offering two performance turbocharged cars that buyers can choose from.
And if you people are anything like me you bought the lancer for it's price, fuel economy,(looks also) and a good value for money, and not because you had stacks of money to throw on turbo kits.
Anyway if it ever happens it would be great as long as it comes at a good price.

Econobox maybe, but you said it : they already have 2 turbo cars, so why they wouln't use the infos and technologie they know that work on upgrade for the other one ?
I'm alike you yeah, I bought it because it's not that expensive, but also that I can boost it without having to pay 3000$ of insurance a year and because the car is almost 1/2 the price. In that case I won't get all the stuff but well for the difference of $$ oouf.

But well, the way it seems to look like is they aren't gonna release it anyway.

The salesman that sold me my lancer seems mislead me. He told me that later on i could go to mitsu and have a turbo installed. I questioned him by phone and he told me that the "09's aren't out." Then, I won't lie I became a bit angry so I decided to go to the dealership. He gave me the run around and told me that the RA is comming out in august and that the turbo from the RA would be compatible but he had no proof. He got a little nervous he went to go "speak" to a manger. He came and didn't say anything else, he gave me card and told me to go speak to a guy at the service center about my issue tomorrow. I'll keep you guys informed. I think he's giving me the run-around though. I'm a little curious as what's going to happen this might get ugly.

If anyone has been in a similar position or has some advise for me. PM please.

when i had to get my temp licence renewed i asked a salesman if a turbo by was coming out. He gave me the same run around saying "the 09 RA turbo MIGHT be able to fit the Lancer" again he had no resonable proof for me to belive him.
