Supposededly the Ralliart is going to be 2.4Liter so it probably wont work for the Ralliart, but u never know with these car companies.

I hope that this is gonna happen, regardless of the cost, This will be just awesome, they seem to be very confident about the CVT taking the extra power from the Turbo..
yet now thinking about it, the turbo cant cost way too much, theres an Evo that you can buy if the turbo installment is way too expensive and this means nobody will get the turbo, the price has to be reasonable

i hope they warranty the cvt with the turbo, 295hp and 300tq would be super fast with a piggyback that controlled the hp and tq to max out through every gear. that would challenge the evo x easy. maybee even beat it.

Slow down here, I had to talk call talk and call to work out something to even think about putting a turbo on my car allowed by Mitsu HQ/Dealer. Application PSI cap would be ineffect. so you can forget going Big nutz on it.

The talk I am hearing is there are concerns over how hard you can push it before something snaps (if snap is the proper term) i am sure it makes some other sound. Engine for sure can handle it, even if the internals arent forged to the same caliberas the EVO X. But its the Transmission Band on the CVT / componants related to tq conversion that is the concern. A) its not something that is easy to modify B) if you break it, its game over, CVT transmission is 100% junk and can not be serviced.

I mean when yo uthink about it. A pulley is one thing but comparing it to a Gear system I dont think you can compare. The heavy turbo app i want to do is going to be all ***** out but not on the CVT. thats looking for trouble.

But I think a CVT that can handle heavy boost would be king of the road. Especially if you can program CVT profiles. Think about a Full throttle holding at 4650 RPM and just holding there as you pull away off the line. No shifting, no losing the power zone, just pure pull. It beats the snot out of a Manual 5.

Sigh, back to reality a CVT is gonna have a baby turbo for safety reasons lol

jokin I guess the CVT is a big question mark.

Anyways thats my two cents, i am hoping there is someone else in the know around here. Come on where are the Japanese Techs when you need them from Japan HQ

thats why i like the cvt cause it has the best drag racing potential. we will know next march and prob be sad when its only a manual option.

Well surely when mitsubishi installs a turbo for a GTS, dont dream about having the same 297 or 300 hp that you get in the evo x, im thinking and hoping that it would be a small turbo that will not affect the gearbox, engine components and fuel consumption of the car, in the end you want something that works perfectly..

but he'd be simply copy-pasting. i can do that.

what we want is some confirmation from other areas. even anything REMOTELY sounding like they have a planned turbo set-up for the lancer, would be nice to see

on a side note: if it could whoop a srt's *** that'd be sweet. My best freind had one. That thing ****in' fly's. Well, when the tires would actually grip the road. front-Wheelspin ftl..... too bad he had to sell it. i liked it.

Yeah, pretty much.

Look at the alternative - you buy an aftermarket turbo kit. It costs $4k, you completely lose your warranty, and gas mileage goes down.

Even with the negative aspects you mentioned, getting it straight from beats the Hell out of aftermarket anyday. At least you'd still have some warranty just in case...
