Hopefully if this is true, they will have an LSD option(for the 5speed) Id love the extra power and still have warranty, but power is nothing without traction.

Has Mitsu ever offered a turbo install without voiding the warranty on any of the past lancers, or any of their cars for that matter? If not, then I'd highly doubt they would do it on the 2008.

While I do have my fingers crossed, as it would be AWESOME...what makes the 2008 model any more special than the 2002 model when it was first released?

I asked my Mitsu Service Center about a month ago that if I brought an aftermarket intake, and let THEM install it, would it be covered under warranty. He said if you buy an aftermarket intake say goodbye to your warranty. Not only that, but they would not even install it for me. He claims that they have a Mitsu Rep check customers cars every once in a while and should they find any aftermarket parts, you're warranty is toast. I'm also from NY btw.

Granted, I'd love for him to be wrong, but realistically, I just don't see it happening.

You happen to have a very harsh dealership.

My HEAVILY-modified 02 Lancer was NEVER refused for warranty work.
My buddy has his Subaru dealership install all his parts and they do it happily AND let him keep his warranty.

Did I hear a turbo might be offered for a CVT?
And a warrantied one for that?
Sounds interesting. I wonder what kind of gains to expect for the CVT version.
Great alternative for those who are not getting the RA or X.
I am waiting to get the EVO MR , but I am hearing the price might be much higher then current IX was going for. So i am just sittin here, waiting.
But a turbo from Mitsubisihi is def something I would jump on if I were to stay witht the Lancer.

well if it keeps the warranty(for those who care about it) and adds a decent amount of power, and have a way to tune it(flash or whatever) it should be worth it

your warranty is toast only if they can prove that your mod caused it. and doing a turbo doesnt not black list your whole car.

There are laws in place that put the burden of proof on the manufacturer to prove it not just say it or you can take them to litigation.

But haha if your running 20PSI boost and just ripping the road and a piston goes thru your hood. well then I dont think they have to try hard.

Expect their Mitsu Turbo to probably have caps as to how high it can go in terms of boost. lol i think they will stop at 7 PSI i think its all the can do to ensure nothing breaks

The original poster prob just wanted everyone to start talking. It sounds too good to be true. How could mitsu offer this. The turbo cant be too expensive because they wouldnt be able to sell the it if you can buy a ralliart turbo. It cant be too cheap because they wouldnt make $$$ and the ralliart would be obsolete. I think this guy just wanted to stir up some drama.

this sounds more like a dream then anything but I'm willing to believe it. someone should post up the main number or email and we can all ask some questions. saying they are coming out with a turbo doesn't mean much unless the guy puts 2008 lancer cvt gts in there because for all I know he's talking about ralliarts or evos or new lancer turbos that are only available as a car and not a kit or soemthing crazy like that. this would make my day though to hear I can get one for my cvt under warranty though. it seems very possible as it does have the same evo engine and other car companies such as scion offer supercharger kits so maybe mitsu is just trying to stay in the game and compete with cars such as the mazdaspeed 3 or a supercharged tc.

damn.
the guys in the Future Evo section just got the prices for the GSR and MR.
The GSR is going for 35k and the MR is going to be 40k-45k.
If there is a Lancer Turbo coming out, that might MY only alternative, unless the RA is much cheaper then the MR or GSR.
I was looking forward to try out that TC-SST engine.
