From what I have heard and read, Mitsu plans on a full line of in-house aftermarket parts that will be covered under the full manufacturer's warranty if installed in house. They have a full marketing setup for it, even a pimping website and other things.

I can't imagine it's aftermarket cheap, but with warranty support it might be worth it.

As for a turbo kit... that's a pretty big mod, probably gonna be in the 3K range I bet (installed). I kind of doubt that the CVT can take a whole lot more HP too... certainly not 40 or 50hp more like we would want from a turbo kit, not without beefing up as well as reprogramming. Might be a low pressure turbo kit, maybe ad 25hp or 30hp... but thats a WAG.

???

I was told they are going to have one... didn't say I had seen it (though in re-reading it I guess it could be taken wrong, my bad... was at work, hectic).

I know Mitsu is working hard on furthering it's market share in the US and tuners and enthusiasts typically spend, smartly or otherwise, big bucks on this growing market. GM and Dodge are supposedly taking similar steps. Subby... dunno, but I know in the past they have actively looked to curb warranty abuse (real or possible) and limit poeple where they could (to the point of pissing of their customers/supporters)... but that may have changed.

Too much money in the tuner and enthusiast markets to ignore, and for a company like Mitsu that has spent a boat load of dough re-imaging and re-engineering it's lines and who essentially lives or dies in the US market by this and next years take up of their brand... well, anything to stretch the bottom line and entrench consumers in their camp is a good thing for them.

I understand your reasoning and I hope that is what they're thinking... but where exactly are you hearing/reading/finding out this information?
