so would we be able to take the turbo from the "gsx" and put it onto our 08 lancer gts?

 

Depends which engine the GSX gets. If it gets the 2.0, yes. If it gets the 2.4, no.

 

Finally we get a decent source! Edmunds makes it sound definite, too. We would still have to wait to see which engine it got. Plus this "GSX" is thought to be AWD. Would its turbo translate well to FWD?

 

i initially thought that the GSX would have a turbo version of the 2.0L from the GTS and the EVO a turbo version of the ralliart's 2.4L. would make sense...

but then i found that JDM EVO X was released with a 2.0L Turbocharged MIVEC.. puttin out 276HP and 311lb-ft torque. (ive never seen torque that high compared to HP O_o) So I don't have a clue of what the engines are gonna be... unless north america gets it different...

I just looked in the comments section to see if there was more on the GSX. Comment #36 was someone writing Mitsu Canada about the three trim levels and a noisy CVT. You can check it out yourselves, but here's the meat of it:
"When you mention GST, I believe you are referring to the 2.4L engine that will become standard equipment in the 2009 Lancer GTS, which launches next spring. I have been advised that Edmunds.com has incorrectly stated that the vehicle will be called the GST. I don't think there's any way a manufacturer would have a model here called "GST"...nobody would want it!! Edmunds.com has also incorrectly stated that there will be a model called GSX which will feature All Wheel Drive and a turbocharged engine. We're not at liberty at this time to discuss this model."
Sooooo I dunno, take from that what you will I guess.

 

You SHOULD be able to use everything from the Evo if you wanted

 

i hate the fact that the people that bought this 08 lancer now is getting shafted b/c supposedly they will be comming out with a 2.4 L engine.. mitsu should be like apple and give us a rebate or soemthing hehehehe

Man, all I read is rumors. Between the different stories in this thread and all the "OMG, the Ralliart is going to roxors" threads, I feel like I see nothing but people guessing all day.

MY Manger at My Mitsu Dealer said YES there is a 2.4l comming out next year, he showed me on his computer. SUCKS!

 

oh well at least we will get more tuning options from using stuff from the Evo, especially the hard parts

 

yea we should beable to use most of the parts off the X, I know for a fact that the body kit from it will work but if you just wanted the front bumper you cant just get that because its 1.5 inches wider. You would have to get the whole body kit. I know this is off topic a bit, But The Hood and rear wing will bolt right up to a GTS.

 

2.4L GTS next spring? if thats true... man... I'm getting my GTS in like 2 weeks time... damn 2.0L.. damn me for being impatient... lol

 

Using Mitsu's recent track record the 2.4l will probably be SOHC and possibly the "same" as the 4b11 just stroked and a slightly larger bore, just like the 4g64 and 4g63 with some minor differences. Oooops another rumor/guess, hahahha.

 

Let me make a long story short My sales rep from mitsu corporate has never been wrong about any other vehichle that came out I have known him for many years now he has been involved with Mitsu Corporate since late 82 He knows the way they operate this is not gonna happen. I am not gonna risk loosing my job to give you guys proof, but if any of you know someone who knows how to properly navigate through Mitsubishi Dealer link. The RA dealer info is in there along with prices of all available and not yet available accesories. Turbo package is 100% out of the question from mitsu atleast.
