There are laws in place that put the burden of proof on the manufacturer to prove it not just say it or you can take them to litigation.

But haha if your running 20PSI boost and just ripping the road and a piston goes thru your hood. well then I dont think they have to try hard.

Expect their Mitsu Turbo to probably have caps as to how high it can go in terms of boost. lol i think they will stop at 7 PSI i think its all the can do to ensure nothing breaks
You're right. However, the real world is not filled with people being honest. Think about this scenario for a minute. You install an INTAKE in your car. Your warranty is not void unless the mod caused the problem...right? Unfortunately this won't always be the case. Let me set up a little scenario:

You have the DEALER install an intake and all is well. 3 months down th road, you're now having problems starting the car. After all, many people have had this problem, including those with non-modded cars. So you bring the car in, it goes into the service bay and 10 minutes later, they inform you that it's the intake causing the problem and that they won't cover the repair and the warranty is void.

In this case, what do you think you're proof is? I'll tell you...it will be the fact that a "certified" technician said that the intake caused your problems. Now in order for you to argue the point, you would then have to have a certified technician say otherwise, and then, possibly, having to take them to court and now you're stuck with legal fee's.

Granted, some dealerships may be straight up and honest and say that the intake DIDN'T cause the problem, and repair it. However, not all dealerships are honest, and I see the "because your car is modded" as the dealer's scapegoat to just make some more money...

not to mention, it is safe to say that the people at the dealership will assume that you will just take their word for it and stfu.

honestly, i bet most people on these forums paid more for their 08 lancer than it was worth. i did for sure. we could have argued and probably gotten a real price, but we didn't, so we're paying a few thousand more than we had to because the dealer assumed we'd be ignorant and they were right this time. same goes for warranty issues.

if they tell you your intake blew your front bumper off of your car and that your warranty is void, and you do argue, chances are that the legal fees you will pay for court will be more than the repairs.

i don't mean to be cynical, but most of the professional world will do their best to steal from you. this includes mitsubishi certified mechanics, salesmen, and lawyers. it's what they get paid to do.

If you blew your engine from just driving hard could they tell? And not cover it under warranty?

Not at all... thats just how some people drive. If the car is untouched (mods) and you drove the car to hard and the engine blew, they would have to cover that i believe.

Speaking of telling me somethin and telling me to STFU,

I went to the dealership about this car door thing, Blacksheep if your listening you will remmeber this, so it says in the book that the FAST KEY system can be programed by the dealer to allow for unlocking of all doors, but I go there and the tech said right away CANT BE DONE!!!! NOPE, cant...

I am going to call and if i found out from HQ it can be "Somebody gonna get a hurt real bad!!!!!!"

Well actually I was to my dealer 5days ago for my leather seats and he told me that apparently there is gonna be a turbo kit for it. Costing about 5500$ (i'm canadien) without installation. And gonna give about 120hp so soething like 270hp in the end.. but didn't gave me more details. So I know they should'nt lie lol.. but well I find this a bit too good to be true, paying something like 7000k total to have near the power of an evo, (ok not the 4wd but anyways), and still keep the warently. But well, let's wait the arrival of the evo, after that we're gonna get more détail.

I heard too that the evo mr with the automatic **** is gonna get double plate, 0-100 in 3.5sec.. O_O (the manual one is 4sec..)

(Sorry for my bad english :P)

judging from the results of paddle shifted dsgs in lamborghinis and other exotics, i believe it.

supposedly the ralliart will be turbo. that means to me that they could turbo an 08 under warranty with no problem at all. wouldn't even be a mod, really just a trim upgrade.

I bet no piggys will be required for the turbo , mitsu can just reflash the ecu i bet . 5500$ for a turbo kit is a lil too much . I wonder if you can install it yourself and keep the warranty ?

I still think its highly unlikely that Mitsubishi will be offering a turbo kit. Maybe if someone reputable could confirm?

nice! on the tc's you can buy the trd supercharger from toyota. but it MUST be installed by a toyota dealership if you want to keep the factory warranty.

Man i sure hope this is true.. I'm thinking the turbo will put the car at about 200hp which isnt bad for a turbo kit which keeps the warranty intact. Hopefully the kit will work with the cvt, i dont see why it wouldn't, im sure the kit will flash the tcm so that the cvt knows what to do with the extra h.p. It also helps that i believe most of the lancers being sold are with the cvt tranny.

I spoke to my dealer here is South Africa. He says there is a plan to have a turbo for the lancer but doesnt know the exact date it should be released. He says its probably during evo X release or a little later. So I think thats confirmation
