ok.. 02 oz.... will be turbod eventually, so it would be taken off sooner or later. (have most everything i need for turbo, so im thinking nos for time being, just stalling because im a lazy wussy)

anyways.. nitrous... anyone have good or really bad opinions on this.. i know 4g94 isnt really know for being a n/a friendly car... so like.. wet or dry, and how big of a shot off a stock head/block and what could the potential hp be?. and i realise nos is a easy way to lose the motor, same with turbo. but i have 2 motors.. not a big deal.

75 shot to big? and wet or dry.. whats easier to use and setup, and whats better all around.. just ingenerally was thinking about it.. figured i would put my nitrous kit back on this lancer, just wasnt sure on a few things.

All you need to know is that you better have a spare engine if you plan on using nitrous. The pistons are guaranteed to shatter the top ring land from being too thin. Search and you'll find threads upon threads of people who used nitrous and blew their engines. I personally blew my engine with nitrous 3 years ago. It was a 40-shot, too.

ouch. well thanks, kinda shot that out the window.. i do have another motor.. but its the one thats suppose to be getting built.. but now on a basic build.. would simple new forged pistons/rods be good enough for a 75-100 shot?
ive owned this lancer since november of 01.. and ive built and know more about hondas then i know my own motor. so im use to having to do alot more like sleeving and girdles and whatever else when it comes to forced induction and really making alot more power.

Forged pistons would allow you to use nitrous. Comparing the 4G94 to Honda engines is like comparing apples to oranges. The 4G94 is not a good base platform to build off of.

I think that a guy was selling some pistons for cheap on the for sale section... you might want to check that out. But I'd just wait till you have the money for a turbo.

Some members have luck with nitrous others suffer catastrophe. The general pattern I've noticed is those that run a small shot and use it very sparingly are ok while those that actually use it as a serious power adder crash and burn. Something else to keep in mind, nitrous is illegal, if you get busted using it, expect a major ticket. The other downside is it's hard to tune for and it requires you to fill up a bottle (an additional and constant cost).
I really wouldn't recommend using nitrous and a turbo. The car is already stressed enough and it's just asking for trouble.

You could go really awesome and do forged pistons/rods. ARP head studs etc. and run a progressive spray where as soon as you hit traction it starts spraying and will spray until you hit full boost, then next gear it will spray again until it hits full boost etc. Pretty complicated but that is what a lot of drag racers do... Of course the big drag racers use much bigger turbo's than go on our car and it takes an effort to get them spooling.
