a friend of mine has a lancer es and is interested in performance mods to the engine. looking at both of the engines (evo 8 and lancer es) they are set up verry similar (im not saying there the same) but could the evo exhaust be used on the lancer? the exhaust manifold, turbo, intercooler, intercooler piping and other various parts of the evolution?

 

You would have to modify almost every mod in order for it to work. That said, yes it is possible. Several people have done it. Search the boards and you will find your answers.

exhaust mani wont bolt up, if you can figure a way to get it bolted up (ex. remove evo flange and weld on lancer flange) everything else is a breeze.
about a foot would have to be cut out of the downpipe
intercooler bolts right on.
and you can make the stock piping work without cuttin any, i did, but you have to move the coolent overflow tank. (zip ties. haha)
and exhaust..i couldnt tell you, proly not cuz the evo is awd. and base lancers exhaust runs down the middle of the car. you might get away with it though(might have to do some cutting)
