turbo sizes and performances?

I have a t3 turbo right now, Im going to downgrade to get a faster spool time, should I go t25 t28 or tod4? is that smaller than a t28 not sure? which would give good spool time, decent top end for 10psi lancer? what would you all recommend?

16g and t28 is comparable. the mitsu turbos are cheaper than the garrets.

Go to Garrett's site and check out the compressor maps to see what might be optimal for your setup.

the 28 and 16g are fairly close, and you can a used 16g for cheap easy. only down side is making a manifold for it.

Just so you know, you don't have to get another manifold. Someone linked an adapter off of Ebay for a T3 to 16G on one of my Civic forums. I'm sure that'll raise an eyebrow!

all i know is road race used to only use t28's and t25's then i think they started making a 16g kit after everyone started to swap everything out of evos. i doubt thats the real reason, but still Brian that works for road race runs a 16g over a t28. pluss id say that would be your best bet since SLVROZ 03 said he saw that adapter, so you dont have a make a hole new manifold

can anyone at least guess or maybe know the spooling times for these 3 turbos roughly, the t28, 16g, and td04...... I cant seem to find much information on any of them. Im actually leaning towards the t28 right now, but if the td04 is faster spooling and similiar to the others than Ill go with that? Any ideas thnks

You have to be more specific, there are different kinds of T-28s, 16Gs and TD04s. As an example, I have a TD04-13T and while it spools quickly (both in terms of boost threshold and turbo lag), the top end sucks and it runs out of steam above 20 PSI or so. Of the options though, I would go with a 16G since it's small enough to have quick response but large enough that it won't be a limiting factor if you want more.

T28 will spool up pretty quickly, and it produces pretty good power.
If you are going for big power, T28 is not the choice.
It is kind of like the TD04, I was pushing 19psi on T28.
And it started to lose power at top end.

Well it's a trade-off, if you want a quick spooling turbo, you have to accept less top end power and vice versa.
