4G93 Manifold

Hey Guys,

I did some searching and it seems like this will fit up to our 4G94 engine.

here is what i am looking at:

http://spaturbousa.com/home//index.p...mart&Itemid=60

I would appreicate it if one of you can confirm that indeed this is the right way to go.

I think I need to go turbo so away I go down this route...should be fun...been doing a lot of reading and got lots of ideas.

From what I remember, a header made for the 1.8 L mirage can and does fit the lancer albeit with some modification to the downpipe section (it needs to be extended). Logically this means that where the exhaust manifold attaches is the same thus bringing us to the conclusion that the above part will work. The Mirage and Lancer can also use the same cylinder head which further supports their cross-compatibility.

Well all we can tell from the flange is that it should bolt-up. I mean it looks like a for sure deal to me. My turbo manifold is from turbo specialties.

---Edit---

And yea ambys correct you will need some sort of modification like o2 housing for the downpipe

That makes sense but the downpipe will have to be fabbed anyways since it will need to mate with the turbo instead.

Sweet so looks like the big spending is gonna start...$300 for the header seems to be a decent deal.

I am little worried about the IC piping and the oil/coolant lines...the rest I will just have to source.

Are the evo IC a good place to start or should I go completely aftermarket? I guess the install of the IC is gonna be custom regardless.

An evo IC is a pretty good start since you can normally find them for pretty cheap.

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but this manifold is made for the 93-96 4G93 engine, not the 97 and up 4G93 engine that our 4G94 is based off of. The wastegate flange on the manifold shows this. There is also a detailed thread in the mirage forums about how this manifold does NOT fit. If you look closely at the manifold dimensions you also notice that the turbo flange is rotated at such an angle that your engine block/trans will interfere with the intake off of the turbo. Take my word for it, this will not fit.

Here is the thread:

http://www.mirageforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=35886

This manifold is for a 4G 4G93 engine.

True, but spa turbos makes the 4g93 manifold that fits our lancers

Heres a link if you wanna take a look at turbo specialties manifold

The manifolds pictured are not the exact application. Here is what a TSI kit for a 4G94 looks like installed on a Mirage:

http://www.streetunitforum.com/showthread.php?t=1644

As you can see, the wastegate flange is on the passenger side. This is how 5G 4G93 Mirage engines and 4G94 engines are designed and how the turbo manifold has to be. If the wastegate flange is on the driver side then the manifold is for the 4G 4G93 Mirage engine.

Ok so here is the actual item I was looking. Based on the indication of the wastegate being toward the drivers side, am I safe to assume that this will NOT fit then?

Senate...I do appreciate the heads up...I am glad I was still looking rather than just buying

So in the thread you reference above, the wastegate appears to pointing straight up, is this what you mean by "passengar side"?
