You have it put into your exhaust pipe. I was planning on doing this when I started my build but decided against it.
The money you save on a turbo manifold, you end up spending on a pump to return the oil from the rear of the vehicle up to the motor.
Turbos get very hot, imagine after a hard drive, you hit a puddle and the turbo gets cold water splashed on it. It could crack.
Rather than all the short pipes in the engine bay, you'd need to run the compressor pipe all the way back to the throttle body. I couldn't find much room and it would end up close to the exhaust, defeating one purpose of a rear mount (no intercooler needed since the return pipe to the TB acts as a cooling system).
With our MAF sensor, you'd have to extend wires all the way to the back of the car, or run the intake pipe with filter and sensor all the way back into the engine bay. I wouldn't trust having my MAF sensor under the car where it could get easily damaged.
But other than that it's just like any other turbo kit. You need the same parts. I think they look cool. I wanted one after I saw one on a WS6. I'd say stick with the normal turbo in the engine bay. It's less of a pain and is proven to work if done right.
yeah i definately agree with that

lol yeah. I would say having a rear mount turbo would be a headache, but honestly i think if you drive safe you shouldn't splash too much water onto your manifold. Its been raining hard for the past couple of days and my car has been running fine. I use to VTA, but now i recirc and you can barely even hear the turbo spool. My car sounds like a stock evo 8 with exhaust.

---Edit---

And m3ta11ica12345 im running the turbo specialties 2 injectors kit. It doesn't come with a recirc, but its not hard to make it recirc just a little modifying.

this kit right here.

http://www.turbospecialties-race.com...hi/ml25B1e.asp

It takes a little modifying to fit the manifold, but other than that its a great kit for the price, but trust me if you have the money go with RRM. I didn't have the funds. This kit is a full kit, but kind've looks like a custom kit. It works just as well.

Well other sites are selling it. I actually bought mine used from a shop selling it. A guy had them remove it from his car and sell it for him. I paid 300 for everything. Thats including his water piping that you have to modify and i got his oil pan pre plumbed. I'd say i was luckyyy. I had waited for ever looking for a turbo kit.

---Edit---

i forgot to mention i bought it on ebay.

like i said before i dont trust anything thats not been tried already. including myself. idk enough about turbo kits to make my own and even if i did all the research im just convinced something would go wrong and i woulda wasted all that time and cash. im definatly not gonna get the $600 kit but im thinking either the one from prostreet.com or the one on wcturbo.com. they both look pretty good to me and theyre affordable. i just gotta make sure theyre decent kits and i gotta make sure i can put out hte numbers im lookin for w thoes kits

If i had 02 03 lancer id do a custom kit but if i had the funds id get an rrm kit. rrm's kit might be pricey but its pretty damn reliable. im not saying a custom kit isnt but road///race with thru the r&d for years.

a friend back in socal dynoed his 04 auto turbo lancer with the 16g kit from road race. 7psi@201 whp 91 octane. if your car is a manual im sure its a little more. when you buy a kit from rrm it runs really rich so you can always lean it out.

lets look at it another way,

How much time are you willing to spend?
How much fabrication are you willing to do?
How much trial and error are you willing to go for?
How long are you willing to not have your car?
Can you, monetarily afford any issues that may arise?
