Thanks for the pictures. They will be helpful when I do my build.

I got the Head today and should have the pistons and con rods next week. It looks like I am going to get the car done at the begining of January, we will see how things go.

I have a spare 3/8" exhaust flange if anyone is looking to do a custom header or manifold. PM me or checkout the for sale.

The pistons and rods just came in. I have pretty much everything to start the build, just need the headgasket and all the other essential rebuild parts like a new timing belt and water pump, etc.

Ill post up some pics of everything when I have a moment.

True. But something just doesn't sit right with the words "hole" and "oil pan". Grinding on the bottom half of the motor, with oil around, under the car...Yeah I'll pass.

I'll watch you do it and be the "high five guy"

Are you installing these yourself? You might as well get ARP head studs and a metal head gasket while your at it. I'm going to be doing everything all at once
i agree with the head studs, but im not to sure about the gasket. I would say stick with a stock one...i melted three pistons, broke a wrist pin and gouged the block .050'' over, the stock gasket with arp studs held!! When we did the pressure check it held without leaks!!

mitsu stock gasket ftw unless you shaved the block

I have been thinking about using the stock gasket. I have heard of a couple people on the stock gasket running close to 20 psi without any issues. Plus might as well not spend money where it isn't needed.

I got the whole head from Mirage 2.0 on the board, I assume the gear is for a mirage and the cam is is a special grind from crower.

I still need a timing belt and I think I will replace my water pump when I rebuild it. I am thinking about putting the manifold together this next week, I am also trying to decide on a ported intake manifold or making a sheet metal manifold.

i would go with a sheet metal manifold. it would be origonal, and if you design it properly it would be more functional and better then a ported manifold... a flow bench would help alot, but i know most people dont have access to that kind of equipment.

sounds like you will be makin some good power once your done. what size tubing are you useing for your manifold?
