in my own personal oppinon i think its a rip off for the rrm turbo kit...4 grand for a intercooled kit? my friend can get a turbo kit for his 2002 civic for 2 grand! yes i know the civic is more popular and everything is a lil bit cheaper for it but i just think its hurtin that you pay 4grand for a kit that is gonna make you run high to middle 14s. and alot of people who own regular lancers are either younger or dont make a ton of cash. people who are ballers buy evos or better cars...i agree that they do need to lower the price of the kit...just my .02 cents

I think its a great deal!!! Did you read your own post? Yeah 2 grand for a civic but thats because everyone and their mom has one and you can buy a turbo for a civic just about anywhere. Read trance's post on the first page. RRM is just about all we got for a turbo for our car and if they really wanted to they could raise the price even higher. They also know what they are doing and probably almost everyone that buys things from them is a happy customer. I am buying my turbo from them and already put money down for it. They have so many things for our car you should be kissing their feet. And thats just my .02 cents

Sorry I dont mean to seem like I'm flaming you.

hmmm...
let's see??

Lancer-around not even 2 years...so not much out for it yet

Civic-around for at least 20 years

do the math...maybe when the Lancer is that old you can pick up a APC turbo just like everyone else.

come on...admit it...if you had a product that no one else had would you sell it would you sell it cheap and cut your profit??

I think not

i know what you guys are saying..**** you can get civic **** anywhere and for cheap as hell....and i know the lancer hasnt been around that long...all im saying is if the kit was cheaper...they would be selling more of them.....so either sell 25 kits for 4000....and they would make $100,000...or drop the price to 2500 and sell 50 of them they are lookin at 125,000. and i understand that civics **** is cheaper but are you gonna tell me that the turbo and intercooler and the piping is any different really than a kit for a civic? i wouldnt think so....

then go and buy your civic turbo that you can get $2,000 and simply put it onto your Lancer instead of the one that is made and fits the Lancer and you will see just how difffrent things are.
this arguement is getting useless.

you can't compare a civic and a lancer, or the prices for either, number of complete turbo kits for the lancer in the us: 1, number of complete turbo kits for a civic: every single car performance site, maybe the price will drop eventually, but you have to remember every car is different, and it takes money to get piping and everything custom to fit our lancer, where as on civics, they probably have warehouses of that crap just sitting there, but road race does it as a kit is ordered, they even said theres a demand for the turbos now, which means there is plenty who are willing to buy them

You can complain all you want about the price of the turbo. If you are a serious tuner, or want serious performance out of your car... Or you are just the casual enthusiast...then RRM is the way to go. They charge you for what they buy the parts at, not at market value. Rob and Gabe would never rip anyone off. Hell Rob put up with my pestering for about two months while my kit was being put together. He is a great guy, and he charges reasonable prices.

If you want a turbo system that is proven and true, then go RRM. Pay the 4k or 3k and get it. I have had my kit in for 6000 miles or so, and I have had not one problem. I smoke cars left and right, and I love it. If you want a quality product, then look no farther than RRM. Just my .02.

well rrm is different than any other kit made right now in that it can and will be CARB certified (if that is important to you, others this isnt a big deal and for those yes it is essentially the same).

For those who live in strict states like CA, and others that is a huge advantage to not have to worry about smog tickets, passing smog and all the things that go with it.

FYI: Just to make clear that Lancers have been around way longer than the civics, (in ASIA though but just a little history note for Lancer owners) I havent even been born yet and there were MITSUBISHI LANCERs already, I remember a friend of mine had a white 1983 Lancer a little bit bigger than GTI's but nice looking. Civics are new to the game, when they came out, Lancers (EVO) were already winning rally championships.

Bet you didn't know I have a degree in Economics. Huh?

Seriously prices of TIAL wastegate went up and so did turbos.

Just some quick points.

Turbo kit:
Show quality powder coated.
Comes with everything down to last hose clamp!
Someone price just silcone couplers. They are $25 a piece!
Directions, that is right 26 pages of it!
tuned no dyno time needed to run PERFECT!( $100 per hour)
Heat wrapped and shielded.
Braided steel oil lines
All vacuum line and fittings
Mitsu blow off valve or Greddy type S
Cold air intake and K&N filter
TIAL External billet wastegate!
Spearco Intercooler core
Completely bolt up.
Tech support built in. No one else will do that.

Our kits make the most power pound for pound
and are the prettiest, and are the most complete, and require the least tuning etc, and are the only purpose built for the Lancer. other stuff is generic. Please don't compare our kit with others. This is the Rolls Royce of kits for this car. I understand if you cannot afford it but........

Basically the best of everything and you get everything.

RPUU or anything else custom will cost more in the end and perhaps still be lacking the power.

Oh yea it every kit looks like this at least
