The exhaust is a megan 02 elbow and downpipe yes 3'' and that was all the exhaust that was on it for dyno. Im going to add a megan test pipe then a 3' section of tubing then drop it down in size to 2.5'' and dyno it and see if i lost any power. And if so how much.

Well I’m going to be installing an electric cutout right after my downpipe. Then to 3'' Megan "Cat" Then to a 3 to 2 1/2 " Well the reason I’m going to neck it down is due to heat and velocity. I know for a fact that on at least big block v8 with true duels if you run 3'' to the muffler then 2 1/2 from the muffler to the tips you pick up TQ. With little to no lose of HP and TQ in higher RPMS. As exhaust gases cool down they contract. And then they lose the velocity in those big 3" pipes. So when you change the pipe size to 2 1/2 you keep the exhaust gases moving faster thus working better. And for When I go to the track or someone tries to race me on the interstate it’s a flip of a switch to open downpipe.

your velocity statement is correct, but dont forget that DOES NOT apply to turbo vehicles. your 'exhaust' area on turbo vehicles is our turbo manifold, not our exhaust pipes thats why we use slightly larger runners on the manifold and they compress into the turbo, increasing velocity.. the only place where velocity and heat are important is that little small turbo manifold. everything beyond the turbo is not important.

the open dump out the side is a good idea, but going to a smaller tubing for the end of your exhaust isnt neccessarilly functional at all. Turbo cars need less restriction, not 'compression velocity' inside the exhaust pipes.

ill have a 4inch dump and a 6inch tip out my front bumper.. (but not for long, ill have a full 4 inch exhaust, just saven time so we can get it ready for track days comin up)

correcto! a big part of the reason you got that much power is the 3'' exhaust.

yep i got the rest of my exhaust back in...... feels like i lost 25-30 hp just from that So i put a cutout right after the downpipe. :P Im still waiting for the electric cutout itself to come in. Also ordered Struts, hubs, knuckles, LCA's for the 4g63 swap. :P
