OZ turbo project
Back with some actual videos of the completed turbo and an 1/8th mile run at Irwindale drag strip. Right now in the process of adding an electronic boost controller to raise boost from 6 to 9 then to get it tuned with ECUflash by Rallinspired Rick.

I've been driving at 6psi since January and on the streets I thought it was something going up against all the ordinary everyday cars but at the strip people don't kid around. I did get spanked, especially to the vw was so embarrassing that I left the place right after lol. But if I were to give excuses I would say it was my first time so nervousness played a role and I did not launch at all. I was afraid I would roll forward if I step off the brake to rev up the engine but I think that's not the case because the drag strip is flat. Also reaction time was really late because I wasn't sure how fast green would come up after the third yellow. My next trip will be much better due to those facts and that I will have raised the boost to 9 by that time. I do want to shoot for more than that but seeing how the car is old with 90k miles there is probably a limit to how far it can go. We'll see down the line.
So we finally figured out what the problem with my car was after installing an aem boost controller which did nothing to change the boost at all and trying to tune yesterday on the mustang dyno. The wastegate was left open to compensate for the 20psi rated spring in the actuator. So then we completely closed the wastegate by shortening the arm without knowing at the time that the spring rate is at 20psi and started doing couple pulls and sure enough the turbo spooled better but after 10psi it spiked to 20psi (not shown in the video) almost blowing the motor. We heard the pistons slamming in there at that point. We stopped right away to figure out what was going on so we took apart the actuator and found that spring. In conclusion for the lack of not having a lower rating spring around, we cut off the spring somewhat until we peaked at 10psi and here are the results. Spent 10 hours at the shop going through this whole thing. Forgot to mention that I added a walbro 255 fuel pump and MBC. The aem is just being used as a boost gauge now.

For some comparison here is the Dynojet reading of the car without turbo (top) and Mustang Dyno reading with turbo (bottom). From what I'm told the mustang dyno reads lower but in the end these are just numbers.
