Boost gauge jumping

Has anyone had their boost gauge read too high randomly, or jump up to 7psi, drop to -14, then 2psi while just cruising along, no change in engine speed or load. Mines a gloshift, so I know it is probably poor quality, but I thought I'd ask if anyone has seen this sort of thing.

Could it actually be pressure spikes, or is it more than likely a flaky gauge. The first thing that tipped me off was i hit "peak" and the gauge read 17psi...and I know I haven't hit 17psi. The wastegate boost source line looks good, no noticable problems there. Thoughts on testing it? air compressor, and just fluctuate pressure between 0-25, see if it works well at random changes, or just hold it at 10 or something and see if it stays solid?

I was thinking about getting a MAP sensor and monitoring boost, maybe I'll just do that, and compare the results.

Does the car feel any different a -14 to 2psi flutter should be fairly dramatic. When i had my fp Red without the ported cover the turbo would surge pretty badly doing a flutter from 0-14psi and that shook the car pretty good.

If your not feeling the pressure in terms of shuddering I'd say your gauge just isn't working right.

Are you sure its not your fuel pump making boost? It's not gauge but the sender unit probably lol

COULD be compressorsurge. but... ive never heard of anyone really having that with our cars before. could also be a bad boost gauge with a leak or something along those line.
