New Problem

Okay, so i get my turbo installed... and it ran well for the first night... didn't really push it hard.. but i kept smelling gas.. and when i brought it back to the house the line from the FMU to the stock fuel regulator was leaking... so.. this morning i bough a new fuel injection hose.. clamped it down.. ran the car in idle for a good 2 minutes.. then it just sounded like it choked out on me?? what can be the causes to this? i can crank the car.. but it won't turn on.. and if i gas it while cranking it will turn on but not for long before it chokes out again... can it be my fuel injector? fuel regulator? maybe the Vortech FMU... i dont know.. but my car is in very well condition.. i've only installed the turbo, i havent messed with anything else not mentioned in the instructions... my car has never been pushed too hard... well maintained 15000 miles and only 9 months old... any ideas.. any input would be great.. i just want to get my baby running again.. arg.. thanks

im really drunk rightnow, so listen clostesly. it is possibly that some gunk from the new hose may have clogged an injectotor. also, it sounds likeyou replaced a hose that was different from the one that was leaking? i know someone who has the same kit, and their hose actually popped off and fuel started pumping out. check your injectors, FMU, and fuel regulator settings and hoses to see if you can find any blockages. also, make sure you check your injectors most of all.

Do not run the car until you check EVERYTHING.

Absolutely check the injectors. Very expensive point of failure.

^ listen to that man. he speaks from experience

are you still smelling gas anywhere? another place i would check would be the fuel pump. when a fuel pump doesn't work, the car will choke on the crank, if you're lucky to get it to crank. a single injector shouldn't cause the car to choke out like you said, it would make the car run funny. kinda feel odd since you're only firing on 3 cylinders. but i wouldn't put the injectors out of the picture, definitely check them in case.

check your MAS hookup too, ive actually had it come loose while driving and the car would die and refuse to turn over. the lancers engine is very weak, check everything...

also check your fuel pump fuse.. it will crank but pump no gas to the car at all.

BTW, don't forget to check the O-Rings on the injectors. When Jeff at ILP put in my 440's he said they leaked like hell and he almost set my car and the garage on fire the first time he started the car up. I don't know why you'd lose your seals, but it's worth checking.

okay.. well an update for you guys maybe good.. i talked to boe anmd he said to check the FMU and the fuel pump.. so i did.. i even tried to turn on the car without the FMU hooked up... i may have damaged the MAS during turbo installation but i doubt it i'll check that too... the next thing i wanna check is my stock regulator and my spark plugs... god.. i havent gotten to drive my car like i used to in two weeks.. its so depressing.. haha.. but thanks again guys.. i know its not anything with my fuel.. or at least i dont think so..

I didn't have mine for 4 mos (not all turbo related), and it's going to be down for another 2 -4 now, so don't feel too bad. My car hasn't seen a single winter since I picked it up from the dealership in January of 02'.

hehe whoa.. i'd go crazy... i mean i've felt that turbo driving it around... so i dont think its anything major.. because it was working the night before... then the next morning when i changed the fuel injection hoses running from the regulator to the FMU it turned on for a good 2 minutes then just choked out... i dont know.. ahhh..
