Exhaust question

I'm putting a build together and was wondering if I need back pressure like a stock lancer? I'm planning to use a Megan evo 8 downpipe with a megan test pipe. I currently have a RRM catback and was gunna take it to exhaust shop when I need to get them welded. I have nearly half the parts for the build I just need a evo 8 turbo, gauges and tactrix cable. Also, any opinions on the Premium Prosport gauges??

Thanks,
Jake

i think you will be fine with the cat back you have. remember, you are removing all your catalytic converters and will have good flow.

I kept one of my cats...but yeah, no you don't want any back pressure if you can avoid it, the turbo causes plenty enough by just being in the way.

Builds are exciting....WEEE!!!!! You need to get a good set of gauges, crappy gauges are more harm than good. I bought elite10 glowshift, and they really haven't been too bad, just easy to break...boost sender nipple snapped off after it had been in the engine bay for a while gettin brittle from the heat i think.

Haven't heard to much about the prosport gauges. I see a lot of subbie guys running them. Their service seems top notch tho. I definitely don't plan to skip on boost & afr. I'm looking to get a oil pressure & volt gauge (maybe one other but don't know what else). I'm looking at EGT gauges but haven't decided where to get one. I'm hoping to be boosted by October/ November

wideband afr needs to be one of the name brands that are known to work well. Aem, zeitronix, innovate, are the good ones so you know

Was going to go with aem for the wideband. I think I might go with aem for boost as well. Man I'm so close to turboing but I don't think I'll be done till October. Winter is right around the corner so we're replacing our single pane windows before it snows Last year was horrible LOL

lol...winter.....snow...what's that like. So, good call on AEM, they are a really good company, I say go with them if you can afford it. Don't rush the build, think a lot on it, read a lot...patience is a virtue.

Cool. Maybe all go all aem LOL I really want a oil pressure and volt gauge because we don't have them :/ The past few years have been killer her. We've been getting much needed moisture So what EGT gauge do you guys recommend? I haven't seen one from aem. I've read plenty of builds. I've read a little over 70 pages of stevens build alone. I've read almost every build I could find. I think my biggest challenge is going to be the tuning. I'm about 4 hours away from any reputable tuner. So I've decided to do it myself
