Upper oil pan STUCK!

Took the lower one off, took all the bolts out. Tried beating on it, swinging from it, and prying it off with a screwdriver. No luck. Mostly I think because I can't get anything in the gap far enough to get leverage.

Ideas?

Btw I had to pry the lower oil pan off too. Beating on it did nothing. The car only has 71000 on it... I don't know if someone used too much gray goop or what...

Positive you got all the bolts out of the upper? There is a notch between the pan & the transmission use your pry bar there. Don't do it between the block and pan. It's definitely gooped in there. Just keep trying that notch.

Hrmmm, I can't imagine where, unless there's one that goes through the block or something first and THEN into the pan?

Is the place where the oil filter attaches actually connected to the pan? I found a mitsu diagram with the pan and the oil filter doesn't appear to be connected...

I might have better luck in daylight today.

Got the hole drilled, also a pita (didn't have the right drill bit.)

10an fitting to be welded on monday by my brother at his work.

Something tells me I am not ready to be attempting to install a turbo. But I'm doing it anyways. Only one way to learn, do!
