HID kit to stock housing

Hello guys,

I just got 2003 mitsubishi lancer and I want to get a HID kit but my friends said if I just put it in the stocking housing of the lights. The lights are all over the place and it will blind oncoming drivers, so my question is.. does anyone have HID in just the original housing? do you have any problems with it? Will I get a ticket? Also, I was thinking to get 8000k. Thank you for the help guys.
