Well here is what happened this weekend.

SCLC had a meet at RRM and I went and installed my exhaust and a boost gauge so that I can turn up the boost.

Well we put in the gauges and guess what, I dont need to turn up the boost, I am boosting 6.8 psi. So that is where the extra power was coming from. so 15 HP at 6.8 psi plus 90 (stock) gives you 192 and some change.

so i was wrong in saying i was at 5psi and so that seems to back up the numbers more.

I was talking with Rob saturday at RRM and he seems to feel that is correct with the intercooled kit.

wow thats awesome, i may be getting more taht i previously thought i would. recently i read that we manuals can boost at 9psi on stock internals but i was told by andrew at rrm that with pistons and rods we can only bost at 10psi max so thats $1500 just to increase the boost by 1psi, doesnt seem worth it to me.

well at 9 psi i would be worried but at 8 or so i would feel fine. I agree taht 1500 is alot for 2 psi but hey it costs to play hahah.

actually it isnt a spike it sits and holds at 6.4 psi all the time and will spike to 6.8.

Hi Guru,

Nice numbers. I heard rumors of a tuning shop in our place with a 4G92 1.6L SOHC motor with a T28 turbo boosting 11.6psi doing 144whp and 140ft/lb.

Its really nice to have a bigger displacement to play with, you get more power out of a decent amount of boost
