Custom jobs

Ok, so my Eclipse friend is upgrading his turbo and wont be needing the T-25 from his car. He said he would give it to me to set it up with my car. Problem being that I have little knowledge on custom making a turbo kit. I know im gonna have to find a shop to custom machine me a turbo exhaust manifold and also a downpipe, but what else do I need other than the piping? Obviously a BOV, and some sort of fuel management system. I heared I need bigger injectors. Also, what the heck is a fuel rail? Help the dumb please

You can look for a 4g93 (1.8L Mirage engines) turbo manifold. They'll bolt right up to our 4g94 but you'll need to get the downpipe extended, which is the route I'm going. You'll also need the proper flange to bolt the turbo onto the manifold, a bov, wastegate if the turbo isn't internally gated, piping, oil lines, etc. As said, there's plenty of threads on the subject already to help you along the way.

if you get a custom turbo manifold your gonna drop around 800 bucks so i would advise finding one other than getting one made

Wow, I thought we had no turbo manifolds that could bolt right up to our engine. Sweet. Good to know. I bet my friend could hook me up with a seller

I swear people don't even try to sold their own problems anymore.

You don't need a fuel rail and, depending upon what route you choose to go for fuel management, you may not even need larger injectors. Look at the kits out there and you should get an idea of what you'll need. I can only assume the T25 has an internal wastegate since it's probably from a 2g DSM if it's the OE turbo. If not you'll need a wastegate. You'll also need fittings and SS oil feed line as well as a return fitting (again, unless that's part of the turbo you're getting), a tap and fitting in your oil pan, and a return hose. You can probably get away with using rubber fuel line as the oil return line, but keep in mind it's gravity fed so you need something wide.

Ok. So far my list goes like:

Custom/Mirage turbo exhaust manifold
T-25 turbo manifold
Custom/TSI? downpipe
BOV (getting a 1G DSM BOV)
Custom/TSI? intercooler piping
Some FMIC or SMIC
a 14:1 FMU
the oil lines for the turbo

I believe TSI has an intercooler kit for our cars that include a FMIC with piping which is supposed to bolt right up to a T-25.

What gauges should I get? I know I might want to get an EGT (Exhaust gas temperature?) gauge so I know im not making my engine go poof but what else?

And im looking at lots of boost controllers but im probably gonna go with a manual boost controller. Something cheap and then upgrade to an electrical one later on maybe.

One last question, will I do fine with a stock GS-T fuel pump?

For gauges you'll also wanna consider an air/fuel gauge (keep tabs on lean/rich conditions) and a boost gauge obviously.

Yes the GS-T Pump will work fine. If you are worried, get a 255LPH Walbro. It's a little more powerful, and not that expensive. I reccomend Boost and EGT. GReddy is the most accurate EGT you can get according to Rob. As far as MBC's go, XS makes a nice one for like 50 bucks. Plenty simple, fot about 90 bucks you can get a two stage MBC so you can have two boost levels set and change by flipping a switch. That way you can have a daily driving/race set up. Just some things to think about.
