hey lets all be nice he was clearly just making a joke anyways so the head unit DOES make a difference in sound quality? Because I only thought that it was the amp and subs that mattered I'm a total noob with car audio.

 

the source is the beginning of the signal, if that's not good, the rest will never be able to make it sound good.

 

Your head unit is the most important part of your steup, DONT GO CHEAP ON IT!!! If you start with good sound you can get great but if you start with crap sound you get loud crap sound! You dont have to buy the most expensive but dont buy the cheapest one either! If you think subs and amps are the only important part of sound reproduction then you should readup some basics of sound and music reproduction , easily found on the net! You will be glad you did!

And about kid lancer's comment, 80% of carsound complainers only get mad when they hear rap, play fleetwoodmac loud and wach the smiles!!!!! I have had people drive next to me just to listen! Problem is most peoples sytems cant play anything but simple boom boom bass lines hence the rap works best for them!

 

actually the majority of people who have LOUD systems listen to rock or metal. it's not about having other people hear you. it's about concert quality loudness & studio clarity. think how your car would sound if there was NO AFTERMARKET...
