Hey everyone hows Your lancers doing? Well anyways im not sure which catagory this falls under so i apologize in advance. I was driving down a small two ways street just driving. I didnt think that I was Speeding I thought i was goin the speed limit. Then i see a cop with a radar gun pointed at me so i look at my speedometer and look at the speed limit sign immidiatly i notice i was speeding and the cop did too so he pull me over. Does anyone know what is the lattest and best radar detector out right now cus i dont want to spend $200 and a week later the police will come out with new technology.

 

A lot of people swear by Valentine. My friend had one...man, it picked up everything. PLus, if your not familiar with it, it shows you the direction the signal is coming from (sweet!!).

 

Passport 8500, if your serious about even more protection, try the zr-3 laser jammer by passport, it links up to the 8500. I havent installed it yet but I read reviews that it works.

 

If the cop has the radar on standby it is not sending out a beam....so your detector will not be going off...... When he sees you he pulls the trigger or hits the botton depends on what radar unit he has....He has your reading before your radar detector goes off..........I know.......

 

^^^^^ it's called "Instant-on technology". Got me one of those by a cop in Texas. Bacisly, he and another cop had pulled someone over on the other side of the freeway. The rear cop car pulled immediately onto the road and boom...the radar goes off just for a spilit second. Just enough to get me...going 3 over the speed limit. Dang Texas cops.

 

I've got an 11 band cobra with voice alert my g/f got me for my birthday a while back.. but it doesn't pick up some of the new cop radars/lasers. It works most of the time, but gets alot of false signals. If you want one that works, really invest in a good one like the valentine or passport. Mine only works like 3/4 of the time.. it only takes 1 out of those to get caught speeding. I know mine has saved me a few times, but its getting less reliable.

Wow that sucks, is there any that will go off in like his lazer is pointed at you because i want the best and i cant afford another speeding ticket

get a Valentine 1 (V1), its the best out there and the only time I got pulled over in the last two years was when the cop didn't radar me. i have also been warned 6 miles before i saw the cop (on I-5) and it always give an average of 2 miles warning. yea mine is also getting kinda sh!tty, to many false singnals but it still picks up the cops radar......where can i get one of them passports or V1's???i know esscort is pretty good too
