best radar to get

ok, ive been getting pulled over alot lately where i live cuz i have some nasty speed traps that cops can easily hide in. ive been wanting a radar detector for the longest. now its time to get one after my second ticket in a month. (no i dont street race. just drive a lil faster than im suppossed to. ) anyways, whats the best radar on the market. i heard the valentine 1 suppossed to be good. can anyone give me suggestions and a website to go to. appreciate the help

Anything from Valentine or Escort will be very good. I personally opted for the Escort Passport 8500 X50 and love it.

i got the 8500 and it works wonders. its not perfect but nothing ever is. 3 settings for highway city and automatic. can also make the lighting on it brighter or darker depending on what settings you prefer. im in VA and its illegal, so i have it stashed in the very corner of my dash on the dimmest setting to help ppl from seeing it. ive been able to detect cops up to a mile away. the display also shows what band of radar and the strength of it as well.

I have had the V1 since 2002 (I think..) and it has worked flawlessly ever since. I used it pretty much everyday since then with no problems.

Passport 8500 x50. It detects a great distance away and has worked for me tremendously.

I have installed 8500's and 9500ci's, Lidatek and K40's.

I drive with a Valentine 1. Always able to update if you send it in.

V1...Paid for itself the second day I had it (technically the first cause I put it in and didn't drive that night but the next day on the way to work i was doing 80 in 45 (speed trap)) If you configure it (videos on youtube...so easy) and learn how to read it in your area you cant go wrong

never tried the passport but I don't think I'll ever get rid of the valentine one!!!!
