which amp
I've got this amp:
http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?stk_code=powov21200
It cost me like ..$180 shipped. I didn't wanna pay a thousand bucks for a GOOD amp. I've got this hooked up to 2-10" Apline Type-R Subs. The **** BOOMS hard. Thats also w/a 1.2f cap
I dunno your price range, but I REALLY REALLY like my power acousitks amp.

ok lemme just once again give my humble opinion:
when you are budgeting for sub/amp, come up with your total amount of money you want to spend. then take that total, and put most of it towards a good amp. get the best quality amp you can afford that puts out a decent amount of power. the reason i say this is when it really gets down to it, the amp is the most important. an efficient 200 watt amp will sound better than an ineffecient 400 watt amp, for the same price. when you pick out an amp, just get whatever sub can handle the power you will be giving it. it's better not to cheap out on the amplifier for the sake of getting a better sub.
