Factory SSL sub and aftermarket HU
Factory SSL sub and aftermarket HU
I've been searching this site and it seems that even with the MITAH and Metra adapters, people have been complaining about pops and/or cut-out of the factory SSL Infiniti sub amp and/or the HU. Has anyone managed to successfully use these 2 adapters on an aftermarket HU keeping the factory Infiniti sub/speakers? I'm concerned about the dual RCA outs going into the high input on the stock amp. I have absolutely NO interest in changing out the sub or speakers, nor in jury-rigging in an mp3 player into the antenna, if the aftermarket HUs can't be made to work I'll have to live without mp3s...
the adapter works. i have it. the only reason the sub cuts out because people are stupid and turn the volume to max and thinking the speakers can handle it. the only rason the amp cuts out because it is ment to do that. when the volume is too high the amp will turn off to protect the speaker and sub.
It will work, very easy to do with the adapter. Now I have Ipod, DVD, PS2...blah blah blah... and it really sounds good with the stock amp and speakers... but the best sound is still the engine and that thing that goes woooooooooooot!!!
To update,
I bought both adapters and I must say it makes the headunit install CAKE! I got a headunit that reads mp3s off of my 2 gig SD cards and everything sounds wonderful with the stock SSL speakers and amp. For pics check my sig.
