is it safe to leave a capacitor in the trunk?

its been a yr since i took out my system out of my trunk. i didnt like how much pounds it added to the car and i need the trunk space. i left the amp in there and the capacitor b/c i was eventually going to put a smaller sub box in the trunk. the capacitor is still wired to the battery BUT THERE IS NO FUSE IN THE AMP WIRE so im guessing no power is going through. im j/w if its safe to keep it in the trunk. would the capacitor eventually run out of power such as household batteries that havent been used for quite awhile?

the capacitor doesn't have power of its own. It is just like a little electricity storage tank. It might die someday, but they last a long time. It doesn't need to be recharged for long life.

it will lose the power stored in it overtime, but once you recharge it with a certain do-hicky, then it will once again store power.

I took out my system for 4mths and decided to put it back in, and all i had to do was charge the capacitor to get it running again.
