Question System Pics

Just got my 03 Oz a couple of days ago and I am planning on replacing the stock system. I pretty much know what I'm getting (just not when...finances and all) but locations are my, for lack of a better term, problem. I'm a Lancer noob, but not a system noob..not pro either. I've done my Dodge Avengers, Blazer, and Durango, but not much space in a Lancer. My idea is to put 1 or 2 10' subs on the back sides cause I wanna keep the truck...well maybe. But amp locations and tweeter for the components I get are kinda throwing me. Can some of you post some pics of your installs...I'm diggin cups tweet location...where is it in the LS?

ok here we go I have 2 JL 10" in a box and they fit fine in the trunk. I have them pushed up against the back seats. I have my tweeters in the part of that door that is black and it is triangular shaped by the front of the window (if you open your door and look at it from the inside it is in the lower right hand side of the window where it comes to a point). Anywas that area pops out and you fit a tweeter in there and just put some mesh over it. As far as the amp goes I have mine in the trunk on the right hand side sitting on a custom amp rack. Let me go take some pics brb.

Funny thing about those. They are already in your car. Look at that peice and you will see that there is a center cap. That pops out and BOOM instant room for tweeter. Next take a dremel or drill and make holes in that cap peice and then cover with some fabric and there you go. Ahhh... my secret is now out of the bag. No custom fab needed on those.

Enjoy and if you need more info or pics let me know.

Guru Del, thanks, that's the kind of reply I was looking for. I was thinkin about tweets there, but haven't taken that part out yet. Do you get good staging in that location?
DigDat...yea, I've been looking at profiles for the last few days (and there are alot), some help, but alot just have pics pulled from company sites of the component not the install.
Thanks fellas.

This is one of the systems I'm lookin at building:

Kenwood KDC-MP819 - Head Unit
Rockford Fosgate FNQ3614 - Component Fronts
Rockford Fosgate Power 750X - 4 channel Amp (I gots the rears)
Rockford Fosgate Punch HE2 RFP3210 - Subs
Rockford Fosgate Power 450S - Sub amp
This is the cheap setup from Ike Sound website...You guys know of any good reputable Audio Dealers on the web? I checked the site here, but couldn't find much

This is one of the setups from Crutchfied:
Kenwood Excelon KDC-X969 - Head Unit
Rockford Fosgate FNX2614U - Component Fronts
Rockford Fosgate Power 550X - 4 channel Amp
Rockford Fosgate HE2 RFP4210 - Subs
Rockford Fosgate Power 451S - Sub amp
Another setup (slightly cheaper) replaces the RF components with Infinity Kappa 652.5i, the amp would be a 551X and the subs replaced with Infinity PERFECT 10.1

The all Kenwood system would be more expensive from Crutchfield (I like Kenwood, but the speakers are lacking power for the price):
Kenwood Excelon KDC-X969 - Head Unit
Kenwood eXcelon KFC-Xr61P - Component Fronts
Kenwood KAC-749S - 4 channel Amp
Kenwood eXcelon KFC-XW1025dB - Subs
Kenwood eXcelon KAC-X520 - Sub amp

What do you guys think out of the three systems. They are basically systems with one 10" sub, but I might go with two 10's. I prefer 12's, but the Lancer is a little small for those I think...and I listen to Rock/Metal.

Just tell me you aren't actually buying it from Crutchfield. You'll pay WAY too much. Buy it from www.etronics.com, and just order the mastersheets from CF if you need some help with the install.
By the way, all of your setup plans look great but the total-Kenwood system would rock. I think its cool if you can stick to one brand. Just my 2 cents.

yeah I agree while crutchfield has a good selection there price is eh. try www.thezeb.com too.

The staging from that location is perfect because the tweeter is actually turned in that pod to face me and my passenger (and same with the other side) so this is the best I have heard this stereo (it has been in 2 other cars).

The install took 8 hours but was worth it.
