they make ported cuz they make both for every type of sub. kicker makes a special factory ported box that comes with it and sounds great with smaller amps ones that cant make it hit hard, but sense the air flow isnt restricted/sealed it makes a pop/fart at high watts which doesnt sound good at all

i started with a ported box and learned that the sub wasnt made for one

and i dont mean just hook one coil up u just hook up each one individually + - terminal to + - coil straight hook up its 2 ohms

but yeah if u dont plan on getting a bigger amp then get the 4 ohm

4 guage wire runs fine, i put 0 guage without having to fabricate or anything

the sub will be fine until 1000+ watts which u wont be passing

 

Bene is right about the 4-guage, most people haven't had to modify anything to run it. I took a slightly more complicated location and made it work.

Truth be told, all ported boxes will give you port noise. Depending on the size and shape of the port, the noise will be more or less noticable at the same power. The more power applied, the more noise you will hear. Sealed boxes, on the other hand, are alot more versitile and lend themselves better to most applications.

That Kenwood amp will probably never give you a true 900 watts RMS. You should expect it to be more like 700-800, depending on the conditions at a given point.

So can you guys find me a good box and wiring kit... I'm having trouble finding them. I mean I can find some but their all less then a cubic foot (box) and the wiring I'm 100% sure what I need.

The computer has been runing real slow and it takes like 20 minutes just to get to the internet, so it would be awsome if one of you guys can get me those two things.
