Questions on Getting Some New Speakers
I'm about to start upgrading my speakers in my car, and have been lookin around lately on different options and what not..i'm planning on gettin boston 6.5 proseries components up front, and what i am debating is what to get for the rear...should i stick with some boston coaxials in the rear, or mix and match, and possibly get some MB quarts 6 1/2"..or should i just keep it simple and replace with stock 6 3/4" infinity's or alpines, and not have to worry about mounting brackets and what not...
So what i'm askin, for those who have systems, what sounds the best for the rears, to get an equal matchup for upcoming boston proseries in the front..any input would be great..thanks..

nice posting at 4:20~
I have Bazooka in the rears just because its filler. My front speakers are coaxel alpines and they jam, but i am planning on getting polk all the way around coaxels in the back and in the front. I have alot of bass so Im gonna get alot of mids and highs in the front and rear.
how much are you wanting to spend?

The best rears are no rears at all. From an SQ standpoint, when was the last time you were at a concert, and someone was playing the guitar behind you? If you do decide to add rear fill, it really should just be a midbass. Highs shouldn't be behind you.
But, if you feel the need to add rears, go coax. There's no need to blow the cash on components for someplace you're not even going to be hearing. (the drivers seat headrest cuts a lot of the sound)

i got pioneer 3 ways all around, with 2 jbl tweeters in the front...thats 6 tweeters in total. got 2 10" alpine type e in da trunk....plus mah head unit has a built in crossover...soo all ma highs and mids are in da car...and mah bass is from da trunk....do da set up i have...and u can hear everything.....but i dink ma ears gonna bleed soon...hehe
If you remove the rear speakers alltogether, and just leave their holes open, then indeed it makes the trunk quite a happy place. (especilly if you run your subs upfiring toward the rear deck) I'm personally working on making a new install in which I use a pair of periscope ports through those holes... but that's a different story for another day (like when it's done)

i have been sayin that for so long. no one believes me, thinks that rear fill is important. STEREO IS TWO CHANNELS PEOPLE!! unless you got some sick surround sound or dolby digital in your car (in which case it is only good for DVDs and SAudio), two speakers up front is all you need. rears are useless except to the rear passengers. mine are disabled, only getting power from the headunit (and even then very slightly) when someone is sitting in the back so they can hear some of the treble over the bass in the trunk.

i know that rears aren't that important...actually in my old monte carlo, i took out the speakers and placed them under the seat facing people, so i could have port holes too allow more bass from my trunk..so with that said what coaxial speakers will have more bass?, since i have no subs at the time
