okay heres an update. I soldered the resistor into the REM line and my amps would turn on but wouldn't play anything. It does this also when the voltage on the REM wire is too low so i tried removing it and then it worked fine... Is the resistance too high or something?

Yeah, go with a lower rated resistor. What size did you have in it?

Try a 500... and if that doesn't work, just go down a bit from there until you find the one that does it. The ultimate goal is to have it not pop when you turn on everything, but to still have it at least turn on.

Unfortunately, every amp is different, so I can't tell you an exact number. ALot of times it is a trial and error thing.
