Stock CD Player doesn't play cd's anymore....

I've only had my car for a year and a half, and the cd player is now not working. The radio works fine, though.

It started a few weeks ago, with cd's cutting out for a few seconds here and there, but now when I put one in, it just says E01 on the display. Then it ejects the disc.

I bought a cleaner last night, but it won't accept it...just spits it out. What should I do? Is this thing warrantied? Maybe I should just get a Blaupunkt mp3 head unit...

I'm po now, though!

Any advice?

has it been really hot there lately?? cause my cd player has been giving me error signs and i think it is because it has been so damn hot out, it only does it on some cd's when it is just blazing hot inside the car

No, hasn't been very hot here lately...I dunno.

And it's not just with some cd's...it's with everything. What a pain : )

It's under warranty - just get the dealer to fix it. You're not going to troubleshoot something like that where the likely problem is a misalignment of the laser by a few microns or something.
