Subwoofer Advice

hello, i posted about the weird sound before.

I'm also trying to get a new subwoofer (preferably with the enclosure and amp altogether). is Visionik Okay?

I currently have 4-channel amp in my trunk.

When installing, should I make another separate power cable or strip off little part of power cable from the 4 channel amp and connect it to the amp?

Thanks.

i've never heard good or bad of visonik so i'm not really sure...wuts ur budget for everything? cuz theres prly a better bang for ur buck out there

and when u split the power ur gunna wanna buy a distribution block and go through that..run ur power from battery to that..then to the seperate amps

I wouldn't get visionik...they are a cheap kind of brand..
What gauge wiring are you running right now to the 4 channel amp?
I would suggest 8-10 gauge for the 4 channel and 4 gauge for the subwoofer amp.
If you can't run both, I suggest running a minimum of 4 gauge and getting a distributor block.
That would then divide the wiring into 2 or more outputs depending on how many outputs the distributor has.
So from there, one wire going to the 4channel and then the other to the sub amp

One sub I never regretted getting was a 12in sony sub... I had got 2 with the amp and boy did they hit hard. I was expecting a little less, but they did the job

You can now find them online for around $60 search around and you will find some.

hmm... since i don't know many facts about wires and stuff... what would be the easiest and simplest way to get a sub/amp, a bit of quality with little cost of money?

^Do the install yourself and buy used. Assuming you used 4-ga on the 4-ch, split the power using a distribution block. Run the extra RCAs where you did the others. Ground in a different location than the other. Upgrade the in-line fuse from the battery for use with the two you'll now use. make sure your battery is up to the task.

if u dont know how to wire up a system..or dont know someone who does..u might wanna get it done..altough its not really hard and there are walkthroughs on this website so its rly up to you..

and i dont know wut you consider a "little cost of money" so it's hard to say whats the best route for you

when buying a system its a good idea to have a general number of how much u wanna spend

Hey guys, I'm sorry to ask you guys one more time about how to put the distributor block.

To upgrade with better fuse, do i just change with higher amp fuse?

For the block, Do i have to buy the one with 1 in and 2 out?

Then... Do i have to cut the power wires short and put 1 in 4 ch amp, and 1 in sub amp?

RCA cables, i know and... how about the remote wires?

u will have better success asking on the car audio forums vs here. it is difficult for us to explain & offer options to you as we don't know what skills u have in regards to car audio installation. do urself a favor & start out by going to www.crutchfield.com & they have info on how to wire up equipment specific to ur car & then we won't have to hear you whining about u frying ur electrical system in ur car a month from now. if u want a budget setup get this:

the Blaupunkt thb-200a retails for around $200 & is a powered sub.

if cost is no option then either build a box or have a box built & use the sub & amp of ur choice. here would be my choice:
http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/tech...e=sub&id=idmax
& this new amp from JL Audio:

HD600/1 - 600 Watt Monoblock
Type: Class D, Full-Range Amplifier
Continuous Power: 600W x 1 @ 1.5 - 4 ohms
(11.0V-14.5V supply with <0.08% THD+N)
Dimensions: 10.75 x 7.87 x 1.93 in.
(273 x 200 x 49 mm)
Available: 2nd Quarter, 2008

IF money is no issue i would just go out and buy a memphis mojo (all you need is one) and a memphis m-class amp..and you will be the loudest car on the block

but that is by no means cheap...i think just one mojo sub retails at like..600..or sumthin
