Thumbs up 08 Dash Kit/loud Lancer

Has any one put in the new dash kit in their 08 lancer .....?does it look good (factory) material.....? I'm waiting for my paycheck so i can order it.....i ain't gonna put in a dvd head unit like others have done already. I think its to much for this car.......so im going with a alpine cd receiver head unit call me ol' shcool but its what i like. I got polk audio's in the doors and 2 12" Kicker CVX's 750(RMS) each with a Kicker amp 1500.1 (MONO) pushin those so i think i'll be alright on the bass side i'm going to get some tweeters for those stock locations up by the side mirrors.........I think this will be preaty fu*king loud.........does any one have any systems................. was up with all you guys....any body doing some serious audio upgrades in there 08 Lancer.......................holla at me...........

^You will need a seperate battery. I have two "10's and a cap and the lights still dim off of a 800W amp! We have a very sh!tty alternator

Mine dimmed very badly even with a cap. So I put in some HID's and now it's all good.

I had to dump my kicker 15's, due to no space, but am replacing them with two T1 10s. Orion 1200 d amp. Wont be the loudest, but will still rattle your eyes.

BTW, i posted pics of my dash kit in the how to section.

This alternator will have to go. ALong with an optima bat. Ill have to upgrade the alt. I dont use caps anymore, because no matter how many ive used, ive never seen it make a difference. The biggest difference comes in batteries and amps from your Alternator. I can buy one bat, and upgrade the alternator for $300 and get the same effect as 20 farads. IMO

batteries won't help as much as a stronger alternator

^+1 yea, but if you only need a little, a battery is much easier to change.

Depends on the settings. You can achieve the same audible level with your radio whether you are at 17 or 37, depending on gain levels on amplifiers.

So True, I have 2 1o Kicker Solarbaric L5's and the lights dim. sounds tight as hell but after putting 20 Sq Feet of Dynamatt and some foam in the trunk to stop the rattles sounds better, I have a Cap on order and will be reciving it soon. I havent seen the Dash kit yet, it should look nine though.
