Quick question about burning songs to the Music Server

Can you only do it via a normal CD(and not an Mp3 CD). Burning CD's with 20 songs on them would seem to take a long time to do(and it would be costly)

Yup, no MP3 cds would work. Only regular cds.

I'm hoping that the same guy who did the DVD while drive hack, can make something to let the system read MP3 cds and make it just as easy!

Yeh, cd-rw's work. I usually burn cd > load in to musicserver > come home and blank it and burn more songs on it > load > repeat every few days lol

Aahh, that sucks! They should of make it easier for consumer to transfer MP3s directly from cd to the music server.

I don't think there's an easy way out.

I'm just saying out loud. If you're able to take out the hard drive (assuming the storage device is actually a standard format desktop or laptop hard drive) then you can hook it up to your PC and see what kind of music format it is using in that hard drive. If it is MP3, then maybe it is as simple as drag and drop all files to that hard drive.

When I get up the nerve (and free time) to rip out the HDD I will give it a shot. Someone has already removed the hard drive and played around with it but I don't know if they have checked for mp3 storage or anything. I know its just a standard laptop hard drive (preferably automobile grade) so I would assume it would be easy to add mp3s but who knows about the tag storage and such.

hmm, maybe I will give it a look sooner rather than later. If it rips to a single file it shouldn't be hard to make a converter (hopefully).
