Amp/Sub Opinion Needed
My new box is 36x13x22. Close to yours. But I know about the pics haha. Today was hectic. Girlfriend got a new car so I had to wash and wax it today for her n she wanted to go show all her friends. Tomorrow she is working so I will have "me" time to do all this haha. Pics, box building, all day WOO!
OK HOLY SH*T lol here they are
Quickie of the subs

Front of box which I need to cut vents out but I'm going to do that tomorrow(I need to go buy a dremel today to make them look good)
PS, Don't make fun of my cut out for subs XD they aren't too perfect. I was getting tired and just wanted them to fit. Dremel will go to them tomorrow.

Ventage!

Quick shot of the car(A little dirty atm)

One other thing I learned from this exp: I HATE CAULKING. End.

looking good man! those are gonna be some long ports haha and if the subs fit the way the cut outs are now, dont bother with a dremel....snug fitting subs are good because then even if some screws come loose, it will still be in there and wont fall out and bust! trust me, ive had screws fall out from too much poundage haha also, the snugger, the easier it is to center the subs in the hole to get good screw points....
Well the box doesn't fit -.- lol
Too big by a long shot for my trunk. The 08's must have bigger access to get stuff into them.
Needless to say I chopped the box into 2 and am just running 1 sub. Surprisingly 1 is VERY loud lol. 2 might have just been obnoxious.
I was mad Grr

Also, Now I am just running one sub (600 watts RMS) and I still have that Pyle amp hooked up to it (which is also 600 watts RMS). I don't know if this is just because the sub is new, but it stinks when it plays. I was thinking this could just be is burning off glue or something just because it is brand new, but gimme your input!
Ah dude that sucks! My box wouldn't fit either. I had to unscrew the bottom plastic close to where the trunk lid locks. And also we had to shave the corners of the box. If the smell comes from the woofer then it's the woofer and not the box. I had 2 15's Crossfire db on my old car and they stank when I play them loud for a while. It smelled like rubber burning or if you could smell the wood some weird smell. I sold them to my bro and he took them out the box a put them on a deferent one and it still smell when he plays them loud for a while also. So I'm guessing it's the speaker. Don't really know why it does that maybe because of to much power and the speaker is clipping(distortion)? Play it with the volume low and see if it still does that. If it doesn't then you where playing them too loud. That took care of the smell on my dbs. Turn down the gain.

hes got a pretty good answer haha! i too have sometimes smelt a slight burning, but only when I run the subs at full volume and the bass turned up for a long time....it could be a problem with the wiring of the subwoofers though. double check all wiring, making sure nothing is touching something it shouldnt be, and just any abnormalities.

oh btw, about your box not fitting. i forgot to tell you this.....measure your car for the biggest possible size box you can fit IN THE CAR, then from there calculate the ft^3 that you can get out of that. it would be so much easier if i lived in PA so i could help you out man haha once you get that total ft^3, if its too much, then make each dimension an inch smaller, or 1/2 inch smaller (if you can!), etc. until you get the right volume.
heres a pic of how i got my measurements. remember how big i said my box was? those dimensions are the lengths of the following arrows in the pic (disregard the RF sub and color of car because its not mine haha):

once i got THOSE measurements, I then totaled the volume of a box that would fit in THOSE dimensions and found it to be still not the max recommended size, but close! but I figured this was the biggest I could possibly make it, so this is the best it will get. that is what you have to do!
good luck!

Yeah I know I measured it and it was SMALLER than that, but it wouldn't fit through the trunk on the outside or inside. I couldn't force it through. Oh well. Once everything is done, I'll get some pics of the 1 sub. Im selling the other Sub(Its in the for sale forums)

one is very loud for me. My buddy is gonna put the other in his car. I built him a box n stuff like mine. But anyways. The sub still stinks. I don't understand lol. Its aggravating. I took the sub off and the sub is def. burning or something.
If I am running with my sub, does it matter which positive and negative coil I run the wire that goes to the amp?
I even used a DMM to set my gains, so I dont know why there is a problem.
