Amp/Sub Opinion Needed

I have a Pyle PLAD330D (Specs: http://shopping.msn.com/Specs/shp/?itemId=297210265) and I was wondering if this amp could handle two 12" L7's. I was thinking if I ran it at 2 ohms, I might be able to get away with it, but I dont know too much about car audio, so I am looking for your opinions

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Do you have an opinions of the best bang for the buck for an amp to power these subs?

Quantum audio make awesome mono sub amps for good prices... they are made by DB Drive so you know its good stuff. i have a few of there amps and have cooked a few speakers from the power!!!! i think my 3000 watt peak mono amp (runs a little under 1700 watts RMS with my 17 volt setup) was only like 200 bucks.. they make lesser models but just my two cents

Are your L7s single VC or DVC and what ohms?

Try this

first of all, Pyle is garbage, major garbage. second, 2 L7s need 1500 watts RMS, and the amp only SAYS it puts out 600 RMS. go hifonics, with a 2000 watt Brutus. would be perfect. I know because i have 2 12 L7s and a hifonics amp.

If you want another amp you may want to ask at http://www.realmofexcursion.com/main.html

Hifonics works and alot of people use them. And I mean alot. But still not top of the line.

If I had the $$ I would go with Zapco.

Havn't bought the subs yet actually. Im still in the planning phase. Is there any pros to having Dual Voice Coils? Or would I be better off with the single?

Like I said, I'm not a pro at car audio

DVC for sure... the wiring options then are more friendly.... as far as ohm rating is really up to the amp. if your amp can go 1 ohm stable get a DVC sub that can be wired down to 1 ohm. this may cost more though because of the inscreased ability to handle power because 1 ohm of resistence is gonna yield a lot of power!!!! an amp that is 2 ohm stable is likely more cost savvy and will still provide a lot of juice. dont know if this actually helped becuase now you need to decide on subs before the amp or maybe the amp before the subs.... your call

Ty for the input. Im probably going to look around for once of the HiPhonics Brutus amps. I have heard nothing but good about these. so I think I might go that Route.

02lancerblue, so lets say I went with the Brutus(http://blujay.com/item/HIFONICS-Brut...010102-1977255) which says it is 2000watt RMS @ 1 Ohm. I want to look for a sub also rated at 1 Ohm? Correct? So say i wanted this (http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/S...d/0/rid/123284) and it says it is 4 ohm's. That wouldn't be a good choice then? I would be better off with a different amp that is rated at 4 Ohms, or different subs at 1 Ohm?

EDIT:

Also these are nice, color coordination with my car. (http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=16396)

Pretty much the same as the kickers. Any opinions on these also?

those subs can be wired up for 2 ohm's (wire the 2 voice coils in parallel) so you would need a different amp. you would need an amp that is 2 ohm stable instead of 1 ohm. that 1 ohm amp would cook those subs at 2 ohm's before you even got the chance to show'em off. you could look for different subs however, a DVC 2 ohm sub would work becuase the 2 coils could be wired in parallel to see 1 ohm. those are kinda hard to come by and typically more expensive.

so to recap kinda....

2 ohm amp-----> 4 ohm dvc sub wired in parallel to see 2 ohm

1 ohm amp-----> 2 ohm dvc sub wired in parallel to see 1 ohm

another quick side note... both setups will require a lot of power at that low impedance. your talking 0 gauge wire ( to be safe) from the battery to the trunk and then into a cap and 4 gauge to the amp. not to mention upgrading the "big three" (search it) and i would highly recommend a beefier alternator. search that also cuz i did post a site somewhere on here that sells 140 amp alternators for lancers ( i have one) and they work awesome!!! also an optima yellow top would help out too!!!!

Would this HiFonics work? (http://www.ugotadeal.com/product_inf...97&ref=froogle) It says 1300watts RMS @ 2 Ohm. So If I ran the subs parrallel like you said, would they be compatable?

Also how do I figure out how many volts my setup is? Does it involve the use of a headunit with an onboard amp? Ex. I have a 5 volt pre-out Eclipse head unit.

yes that should be just fine.... as far as the volt thing, i'm not sure right now i would have to think about it but why would you want to know anyway?

he said he wanted TWO subs, so he would need DVC 4-ohm subs to get 1 ohm haha also why would you go 0 gauge then back down to 4 gauge? theres no point to the 0 then....ur just wasting money. either use all 4 gauge, or all 0 gauge. I suggest 0 anyways. and yes, big 3 and alternator will DEFINITELY help!! if you want, I can take pics of MY big 3 upgrade (all 0 gauge) and post them....

dont worry about this, it will be fine. the voltage on the head unit is pretty much a "quality level." the higher the voltage going to the amp, the better the signal is, and the clearer the sound is.
