I recently purchased some Alpine Type-S component speakers and had them installed at BestBuy. However, after the install I realized there is low hissing noise when the music track is playing low volume notes (such as the blank/no sound at beginnings of music tracks).

I contacted the installer and he pretty much said it is my factory deck's fault, and I notice the noise now since the tweeters are up higher. I'm wondering if anyone else experienced something similar, or is he straight bull****ting me? Does anyone know what's the cause of these low hissing noise?

I drive a 2008 Lancer with 4 factory speakers.

Any advice is appreciated.

I have a stock radio and all speakers are aftermarket but I have no noise, someone told me you should make the ground cable of the amp as short as possible and make sure it is touching clean metal, but I cant guarantee you that will work.

How about if you purchase the whole thing and sell everything but the covers on ebay or craigslist.

I know this is an old thread but I got the tweeters used & hook them up but there's no sound coming out of them. Are those wire connected or do I have to remove the radio to connect them????
BTW They where working in the other car

I haven't done it yet (yes after 4 years still not done...) I think the wire are only usuable if you have the speaker that should be with the tweeter. If you still have the original speaker, they run the hi so the existing wire are useless.

You should have new speaker with a new run of wire with a crossover.

Im not an audio tech king pin but from what I saw on other forums, that's how it should be wired.

Good luck
