does any one have tvs in their lancer?
ok, i just got 3 monitors for my car. i'm pretty familar with wire electronic but when i was reading the instruction it said something about connecting the blue wire to an amplifier. where is that located? and could i wire it to a Cap? cause i wire my subs, underglows and neons to it.
You've got your sub amp, underglows and neons all running from your capacitor? Not really the best wiring system.
The capacitor serves to reinforce the electrical system (mostly for the sub amp) when there's a large draw, like a loud low bass hit. If you're wiring a lot of **** off of it, you're defeating its purpose. All that other crap could be easily run from your battery, just don't forget to fuse it.
The answer to your blue wire question I believe lies in the remote wire. Which would be quite easy to tap off the amplifier, but also from any wire that only goes hot when the key is on. Personally, I find in situations where I've got multiple things I'd like to switch on with the remote wire, it's much better to run a relay, rather than take the risk of burning out my HU's remote turn on output.
My $.02

i got multiple remote things too. and the best thing to use is a relay that amplifies the power so the HU won't have to push as much when the ignition is turned on. if you have amp, tvs, and shiet that turns on when the key is turned, i suggest running everything to a single location like a switch, then run the main source, like a HU, to a relay then to the switch. this then branched out the power instead of running everything in a series or even worse, off a single unit like and amp...my other $0.02
oh and note...why the hell are you running other shietnik off the cap? that is a total waste of power and money. the cap's main purpose is to store energy so when the amp need it, it doesnt drain as much from the main battery...run the neons and shiet to an isolated source , then have it wired to the battery. those things don;t need caps becasue they don't have voltage drops, the amp and sub in the other hand, has muchos muchos voltage drops and peaks...
alright thanks for the info. i dont run everything off just one capacitor. i have 3 in my car and they power: 2500 watt amp, 1500 watt amp, four underglow tubes and about 4 small neons in my trunk. would that seem a lot? i once installed my neons to my accessory fuse but then i blew it.
and please re-phrase ur explanation about the blue wire. hehe. i didn't really understand it. i can easily wire it to my cap and then ground wire it, right? and where do i put the blue wire?
sorry for asking so much. i just dont want to blow up my car or pay like $200 just to get them installed. i just got my alarm installed and it cost $188 but it doesnt work right now and its been not even a week since i got it installed. i connected my subs so i'm guessing its not that hard to connect a monitor.

STOP WIRING THINGS TO CAPS! (and don't ever type in caps)
Seriously, you're just pissing money out the window, but you don't want to pay to install things proper? When does logic like that make sense?
You don't need 3 capacitors... actually, you probably don't even need 1. You could get away with distribution blocks, since that's all they're really doing now. Neons have a very low power draw, as do the underglows. They don't even come close to needing a capacitor. Your average neon doesn't draw enough power to pull a greased string out of a cats ***. Seriously.
To be quite honest with you, I'd reccomend you get them installed professionally, and have someone check out your wiring while they're installing.

Hank bro sorry for the OT but that was great!

also, to explain a little better, a capicitor isn't a power source. think of it like a battery that has to constantly be charged. the advantage of it as has been said is to store energy til you need it. when you are listening to a song, you might be running 50% power to the amp. what the cap does, is store the other 50% of power so that when the amp calls for 75% or more or whatever, the cap can deliver it quickly instead of pulling it all the way from the battery.
the so called "blue wire" is usually a remote-turn on. you can find it at your headunit, and this gets wired to your amplifier. the function of this is similar to a relay. the amp doesn't pull power from your battery until this remote wire is on. once the remote wire (powered from the accessory so that when the key is turned you have power) is on, it closes a relay contact that allows the amp to draw power from the battery. remote wire is low voltage low current, just enough to switch the amp's relay on and keep it on until you take the key out.
hope this helps.
